The Ibis Hamburg hotel was truly amazing! The breakfasts were delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was incredibly pleasant. But what made my stay even more special was Tanaz. Not only was she very kind and professional, but she also explained the hotel details and the address I asked for in the clearest and most beautiful way possible.

Not too far to walk or train it from most places you’d probably want to visit in the city. Rooms were clean. Breakfast reasonable. They refused to fill our water bottle on the day we left for the airport. Reputationally odd to do that knowing it will leave such a bad feeling (and review!).

I have no complaints about this hotel, the room was small, but I loved the smart and comfortable design, with the bunk bed over the double bed. Everything ease, smooth, clean, and comfortable. Adding the great location, walking distance from the central station and city hall, it was perfect for our short stay.

Unfortunately, I was quite surprised and disappointed by the rude treatment my family and I received from your receptionist during check-in. After a long 7-hour flight, I expected at least a basic level of respect and hospitality, but that was not the case.
There was a misunderstanding regarding my reservation. I had specifically booked a connected room, but it seems this request was not communicated to your hotel by the reservation agent. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this does not excuse the disrespectful behavior from your staff. Fortunately, your manager stepped in, handled the situation professionally, and did an excellent job resolving the issue.
This is not the only time I’ve encountered problems with staff behaviour at your hotel. On a different occasion, I experienced a similar issue which further added to my concerns. For instance, one of your bar staff questioned me in front of other customers about why I had a voucher for free drinks, suggesting that such vouchers are typically only given to guests who complain. This was both embarrassing and unprofessional.
These incidents make me feel that some of your staff may lack the necessary training in hospitality. I strongly encourage you to invest more time and resources into hiring the right people and providing adequate training to ensure all guests are treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve.

Rooms are standard and a bit small but clean and quiet! Very good breakfast with possibility to get lactose- and gluten-free food. Plenty of fresh vegetables. Hotel is located very close to main train station and public transport. There is also possibility to rent bicycles in the hotel. Very nice and helpful service folk. If you are in Hamburg for shorter, up to 5 days trip and plan to use your time on sightseeing I would strongly recommend that hotel! 😁👍

The first thing I told the friend I was sharing the room with, once we got to it, was that I was very curious about how the soundproofing would have performed during the night, as I saw our window gave onto a major, very busy road. Well, it turned out to perform more than well, as we simply forgot about the cars outside when we turned off the lights to sleep.
The beds are comfortable, the pillows perhaps a tad too soft.
The breakfast buffet is diverse and ideal to keep you going for the best part of the day, although the selection could be a bit more diverse. Anyway, the make-your-own-waffle station makes up for that.
The only drawback - and the reason for this review not getting all five stars - is the drainage of the washbasin in the bathroom: this is not the first hotel where I happen to come across a washbasin where the water level immediately starts rising is the ceramic bowl the moment you open the tap, and then takes ages to drain. This is something the housekeeping staff could - and should - easily spot.
Other than this, flying colours.

Like always the rooms are great and the price is always right for the service. A tip for dutch and belgium people they dont accept youre debit card.

- clean and nice rooms (no fridge though)
- be aware the A/C and heat is not adjustable, everything is centralized.
In the rooms with numbers ending on 01 and 03 the windows can’t be opened.
The heat in our room was unbearable, we were able to change rooms as they were not fully booked.
— big flaws: they charge 16€/night (!!!!!!!!!) for your dog / pet and you can’t pre-book a parking spot (parking is 14€/night).
