The Hotel Torbräu is a perfect location to explore Altstadt Munich, many shops, restaurants, and popular sites steps away. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I found the hotel clean and we'll kept and the room modern and spotless. The shower, though small, was particularly nice... great water pressure and as hot as you'd like. A welcome pleasure to melt away a day/night of travel.
Breakfast was good, with good strong coffee and tasty breakfast sausage, as you would expect in Munich. The dining room was sunny and comfortable, the balcony even better, with views of church steeples and chimes of the bells. A nice way to start the day.
My only detractor was some room to room noise. Fortunately I didn't have loud neighbors, but normal conversation barely sounded like the was a wall there.
I would definitely stay here again. The price, comfort, and location are a winning combo, at least for the room I had. I'd have ear plugs on hand, just in case.

Fantastic stay. Comfortable, spacious room. Friendly staff and service. Nice breakfast. Perfect location. Highly recommend.

The location is great and most of the staff is very nice but, and it’s a serious but:
Everything is very old and outdated and needs to be refreshed.
The worst were the uncomfortable bed and pillows! Feel like they all were overused. Made my back and neck hurt.
The water flow in the shower was very weak.
The AC was noisy.
The curtain was dirty.
The mini bar “for free” was just a few small drinks and two tiny bars. Extra water was for an extra cost.
And they don’t offer any free water at the Lobby - even on 30+ c degrees days.
Definitely not worth the price and definitely won’t be coming back.

Nice hotel. Very clean and spacious room/bathroom! Comfortable bed but pillows are awful. Walls are thin but it didn’t affect us in any major way. Great location and right next to the train.

The room was beautiful and clean, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. On our last day there was a problem with the elevator ( we stayed on 4th floor ) so they gave us free breakfast! It’s so nice of them.

In the heart of 'City Center'. Just blocks away from Marienplatz, Glockenspiel with lots of restaurants, shops and vibrant city life. The train station is magnificent, spires abound and street performers delight. I digress. Hotel Torbrau provides free mini bar (wine and sparkling water only), rooms that can sleep 3, dual vanity bathrooms, and real boudoir closet. Just an older venue but very nice and convenient for Munich.

My experience with this hotel was superb . Special thanks to the lobby manager in the wee hours of the morning . The gentleman really went out of his way to help me despite being 3 AM . He was working alone in the lobby and this gentleman made me felt like they really wanted my business , he offered to call the company where I ordered , got me a complomentsry bottle of Coca Cola as well haha

It’s an old hotel in the old city. Location is fantastic, close to everything. Close to 2 subway lines. 3-4 min from Marienplatz where it all happens.
It’s very quiet, and bed is comfy.

A modernized old world hotel in a very convenient location near Marienplatz & the center of Munich. My room was updated, roomy & the bathroom was newish with a large, beautiful shower. You did need to close the windows to sleep as the street noise was quite loud.
There were other negatives. The one elevator was tiny, fitting no more than 2 adults. The buffet breakfast had an extremely limited selection, almost no fruit & no cold cereal. Having to pay for it whether you went to it or not was a downer.
Views were basically non existent. My windows faced directly into the apartment across the narrow street & I saw more than I needed to!
Staff were pleasant & helpful, if not friendly. All hotel areas were clean & well maintained.

I have no complaints about this hotel. The location is great and close to all the main sights and next to public transport. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and big (although we had an upgrade to a bigger room than booked initially) and with A/C. Beds were comfortable.
Minor nitpicks:
- the breakfast is nice, but a bit expensive for a standard buffet. I'd recommend to eat somewhere in the neighborhood.
- The "reading light" above the bed is ridiculously bright...
