Reviews
I would like to thank Mr. Hossam for his good dealings with us and I advise everyone to contact him directly if there is any problem.
Beautiful location, tasty food, great facilities especially if you have kids or older people or disabilities.
This is my second visit and will keep coming bk, even they upgraded everything since my last visit in 2022.
The whole team were amazing but few names I would like to mention:
A huge thanks to Ms. Juliana, the customer/guest relation manager, who was so attentive to details documenting every single comment or request and taking it seriously to make things better and in the right place. She is one of the best in the hotel Mangment, so dedicated, great listener and very helpful.
Thank you to Mr. Wageh, the pool restaurant manager who was so kind and helpful and a great leader to the whole restaurant team,
thank you to the best restaurant employee, Mr. Mostafa Saber who cared so much to details, cheerful, kind to my child, and providing everything with a smile even during stressful times.
Thank you to the reception team they were marvellous.
Lastly you got to try the boat snorkeling vendor there they are soooo gooood and too much fun to go on trips with them ❤️
Thank you all for making our vacation absolutely perfect 👌
Food overall good but cold, restaurant clean but full of birds looking for food inside and out, walking all over tables and chairs. Service received standard expected in a 2-3 star hotel unless u have a bottomless tip pocket, we felt as the only other English couple in the hotel for the first week we was completely ignored by waiters, no service offered to us that even justified a tip (because we was English not German) the language barrier a major issue they just don't speck English. Animation team was seen twice. The theater a waste of time for English as all about belly dancers and a man with a light skirt spinning around we didn't visit after that.
Positive - the beach and sea is amazing the coral at the pier with all the fish made our holiday we spend 2 full days snorkeling and never got bored.
The quite pool (relaxing pool) was just that no one under 13 allowed so no balls and splashing we spend 8 out of 9 days here. The family pool was good as well still relaxing and alot deeper than the quite pool, we always got a sunbed even later in the day. Towel service great the life guards set u up with sunbeds umbrellas table and ashtrays, however the pool bar is a bit of a walk for a drink. Special occasions don't go unnoticed even without prompts cake card and drums in the restaurant and then delivered to room.
Biggest down fall both mysef and husband ended up very poorly after 5 days with diarrhea and sickness which has continued now home and I now have antibiotics.
Over all I would give this hotal 4/5 cleanlines, 3/5 service, 3/5 food 2/5 for poor activity awareness 3/5 entertainment 2)5 hospitality
We wouldn't return here
The dining hall was not spared from issues either, as birds had made themselves quite at home, building nests and contributing to an unsanitary environment. While the food initially seemed promising, it quickly became monotonous, exacerbating my dissatisfaction. Additionally, I contracted a bout of diarrhea that has persisted for several days, further dampening my experience.
One saving grace was the courteous staff at the bar, providing a glimmer of hospitality amidst the chaos. However, this was not enough to salvage my overall impression of Hotel .It falls significantly short of European standards, warranting no more than a 3.5-star rating. Areas for improvement abound, particularly in the quality and variety of food offered. Even the supposedly upscale restaurant disappointed, serving pizzas reminiscent of cheap, pre-made varieties with an absence of tomato sauce, drowned in grease.
Furthermore, the hotel's medical services proved both exorbitant and uncooperative with our insurance provider, compounding the frustration of an already unpleasant situation. Despite encountering pockets of kindness, notably from individuals, it's evident that corruption is ingrained within the country's hospitality industry, tarnishing what could have been a more enjoyable stay. This marks my first and likely last experience with Egyptian hotels aspiring to European standards.
*Racism and second-class treatment by staff and European guests*: Most of the Cleopatra staff were nice, but sometimes Egyptians, Arabs, and Muslims get second-class treatment (especially by security) compared to German and European guests, which is messed up in general especially given that we’re paying the same rate if not more and oftentimes tipping more as well. Also, German guests need to learn that it’s rude to stare at Arab guests and that this is an Arab and Muslim country that they are our guests in and not the other way around…they looked at us as if we were in a zoo. So if you are an Egyptian, Arab, or Muslim be warned. In retrospect would have chosen a different hotel purely because of how ostracized we were made to feel by some staff and guests. Also 95% of the guests were German, so you feel like you’re in a German resort town instead of Egypt. Not the Egyptian cultural experience we were hoping for. 2/5 in this respect.
Food: Buffet was good, each night is a different theme. Friday Egyptian night is by far the best, they should stick to this more since it’s what they know best instead of venturing into Jamaican food etc. Pool bar food however was atrocious. You order a burger and the patty is .5 cm thick and the cole slaw is literally 3 small pieces of cabbage. Pizza was raw. Not what we expected for a 5 star hotel. Food in general is—at best—4 stars. Best food was the A la carte restaurant, but can only go maximum of 1 time during stay.
Pools and beach: Overall nice pool options and beach. Small place for snorkeling near the pier where you can see some fish and maybe 1 stingray, so it’s good for beginner snorkelers.
Thank you all for eveything.
The staff was very very friendly and accomodating, always smiling and in a good mood. They succeeded in offering a memorable experience.
Good people, good food and nice rooms.
Very nice service.
You are the best.
Hugs from Alina and Daria. 🤗 🤗 💐 🥰
It was our 5th time in egypt, the first time in this hotel. And the first time we want to return to a hotel.
On arrival check-in went smooth, luggage brought to our rooms. As we arrived in the morning the room was not ready yet, so we first had some lunch.
We were family of 5 and had a family room. One word: Amazing! The room was spacious, clean, enough beds and towels and storage space. And not to forget what a view! It was great to wake up and see the sea. Safe and small fridge were in the room as well as coffee and tea facilities and a complimentary bottle of water.
There are enough pools, 4 in total, one relaxing adult only pool, one family pool, one heated pool and one 'adventure pool'. What was amazing is that there were always sunbeds available as wel as umbrellas! Towels were easy to get and to change, and always with a smile even until 6pm when the pool closed. There was a waiter going round at the pool, convenient for ordering drinks.
We used the heated pool, which was 28 degrees, the other pools were 22 degrees. Also not too much hassling by people trying to sell you excursions or massages. You can ask for a red flag at the towel station, so they won't disturb you at all.
Beach was nice, enough sunbeds available, watershoes could be a plus, water is shallow. And a nice pier to walk on.
We took our food at the beach, serviced at the table, with a good choice, portions were quite small but one can order twice. And several options were possible. There was also ice cream available till 5pm.
Drinks were good, especially the Mojito.
In the evening the food was also very nice, there was a dedicated seating area for families with kids, for disabled people, for adults and it was also possible to sit outside. Drinks could be ordered with the waiters. Again we were surprised, no fight for a seat, there were always enough seats available. For what concerned the food, buffet was great with a good level of variety and really tasty, also for the kids. And always enough. What is a plus for families with smaller kids, there is a family seating area with normal sized seats for adults and a kids table next to it, so that one can have a decent seat as an adult.
Same for breakfast, always enough seating and plenty of good options. Fresh orange juice was available for 2 euros for a large glass.
Animation team was great and friendly, although we prefer to just sit and have a chat in the evening there was always something organised. Also they were very friendly to the kids.
Checkout also went very smoothly.
We will definitely return. Thank you for the amazing holiday.
Our room was situated on the ground floor by the heated pool. We stayed around the pool most days and got served by a lovely young man called 'mohamed '. The other pools were amazing but freezing cold so it seemed most of the people in the hotel congregated around the heated one which is also the smallest lol. We managed to get 6 sunbeds in a row ,but we did go out there at 7am to do so as by 8am they were all taken.
The food was very samey. But you could always find something.
The drinks were fine, cocktails were great, especially the mojitos.
We went on a trip to luxor and the temple which was amazing but a very long day . It was well worth it. We booked through trip advisor as it was so much cheaper than going through the travel agent. You must haggle!! The local shop on site was extortionate so try take snacks with you or buy off site.
Haggle with everything, the boat trip and quads were a ridiculous price but managed to get them right down.
Overall , we had an amazing holiday. Plenty of active onside if you choose to do this.
The beach was nice enough, the sea was very shallow and you can walk out quite far. At the end of the jetty is a snorkel area where you see plenty of corals and lots of fish, octopus etc. An amazing sight!!!
WiFi was great. We had it in our room as was by the heated pool, in reception but not in the dining room areas .
I would definitely visit this hotel again and would highly recommend.
