Pickalbatros Royal Moderna Sharm "Aqua Park" Hotel

I really enjoyed this holiday, the animation team was great. One of this things that stood out the most was how amazing the bar staff was at the beach bar especially osama, every time I’d turn up to the beach bar he would have a drink on the table ready. He constantly making cocktails for my family and interacting with all of us. all in all a decent hotel and I’ll definitely be coming back.

We spent Last week in this hotel - family with 11 years old kid and had a great time. Hotel is clean, all crew is helpful and nice. We specialy thank Osama from the beach bar who told us about the Egypt and served the best drinks. The food is ok, no one got sick. Near the hotel there is a reaf, nice views. Only thing we didn’t like was that there was a lot of arabic families with many kids who were realy laud and noisy.

Great family holiday at the Royal Moderna. We chose this hotel as we stayed at Jungle Aqua Park in Hurgarda last year and loved it, so wanted to try another Pickalbatros hotel. We were not disappointed. Our room was lovely and kept beautifully clean, our cleaner would make different towel animals each day; which my son loved. We would try to guess what the next animal would be before opening the door. The restaurants offered a good selection, even the pickiest member of our group found plenty to eat. They are all close together so you can choose food from any of the restaurants and take it back to your table; your not restricted to eating from the restaurant where you are seated. The pools are great. Splash pool options for the little ones and quieter, roped off sections (deep end) for adults who don’t want to be splashed. We got to the pool between 9 and 10 every day and always got sun beds. The water slides are located a short walk away from the pools, we really enjoyed them and the lifeguards were very diligent at ensuring everyone was safe. Snorkelling off the jetty is amazing, with shallow and deep options for different ages and confidence levels. The Reef at the very end is stunning and has a lifeguard keeping an eye on people in the water. Evening entertainment was a mix. Loved the fire show and the acrobatic show. Dancers were good. The only negative point I can think of is that some of the music played around the pool during the day contained a lot of swearing, which we didn’t expect around the family pools. I think it’s probably a language issue. Staff were great, service wonderful. We would go back.

Hotel is very welcoming staff all so attentive our family room was a great size very clean comfy beds all toiletries provided restaurant & bars all friendly staff the coffee bar amazing staff in there as this runs 24 hours always spotless an served with a smile. Reception staff always happy to help. Security where amazing especially when I lost my phone. Great value for money Food amazing Amination team amazing with our 10 year old son Harry the new English girl kara has picked up her job role so fast an is an asset to the team. Overall we nothing negative to say just we will see you in November for our 3rd stay

We went for a last minute week of winter sun, and with reasonable expectations which were mostly exceeded. We asked for a quiet room and we got one, it was spacious and clean but the location at the back of the resort also meant that we had to walk lots to get everywhere - we did not mind this in the slightest though. We found the food great and well seasoned - you get a choice of 3 restaurants for breakfast / lunch and further 2 for dinner and they all serve something a bit different so worth walking round them all to see what's on offer. We enjoyed Tagine best for African food, and also Culina for dinner for fish and seafood but generally the food was very tasty! Restaurants can get busy for dinner so either go super early when they start serving or wait about an hour or so for majority of the people to leave. Food was served in one place or another from 7AM until midnight. Drinks - very basic as most reviews say. We would stick to beer or rum and coke/gin and tonic or a glass of wine for dinner. If you want fancy cocktails, pay more for a fancier hotel, simple as that. The staff work super hard everywhere and well deserve a tip. We found everyone very helpful, and the waiters remember what you drink and would bring you drinks round on the beach and the pool should you so wish. We liked beach bar the best and the bartender Maged Salah there took very good care of us :) The snorkelling at the end of the pier was good, sadly when we were there it was windy and we had red flag most of the time so couldn't do as much snorkelling as we wanted, nobody to blame here but the unpredictable weather gods. However on windy days I was able to get a good swim in one of the bigger non heated pools and we spent most of our time around the activity pool which was heated and very pleasant even in winter season. The entertainment team did their best, however ask them for activity schedule as it's different times from the schedule that you can find around the hotel. DJ was very good and the overall pool vibe was fun but without people getting too drunk/loud. Majority of the guests were Russian speaking, we actually found them a lot more polite than our fellow UK guests usually are so unsure what the complaints are! The entertainment was a bit of a hit and miss, some shows were wery good and it was usually done in both English and Russian to cater to majority of the guests. Overall we had such a pleasant holiday , thank you for all the staff to make our week so relaxing!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in March. Requested a quieter room as we had no children with us which was exactly what we got and pool view. The room was spacious and a huge bed with a single bed. The gentleman on the front desk John Gerge’s was very helpful with all of our needs. The room was cleaned every day spotlessly and our house keeper surprised us quite a few times with beautiful towel features. There were plenty of pools for children of all ages and also quiet pools that we could enjoy. The beach was lovely and clean with a long gondola which we could snorkel off the sides and end seeing the most beautiful fish. There were plenty of bean bands and sun beds to use. The beach bartender Maged Salal looked after us well serving us drinks and bringing them to us during the day. The restaurants were spotless.!You could wander through the different themed restaurants and choose a variety of food which was yummy. The service was amazing. There were different bars to choose from where you could sit inside and out. Day and night. We used the taxis from the hotel when went out to Soho square which was a must and to the Hard Rock Cafe. We went on 1 trip to the White Island. The boat and crew were fantastic. Brilliant snorkelling. But the island itself wasn’t an island and a bit disappointing but the trip itself was good. The beach food restaurant nice. But it was the same food everyday. Could do with a bit more variety on different days there. The staff there were excellent and accommodating where possible. The entertainment was aimed at the children, so if you had kids with you, it was perfect. All the staff were eager to help and remembered your food and drinks preferences from day one. This was our 8th time to RAM, but first time back for 10 years, due to travel restrictions and COVID. So it was great to be back, even some old staff still remembered us, which was nice. There are so many changes to the hotel which was great to see, especially the lobby area. We stayed in room 1315, which we had stayed in before and that had been updated, lovely room with a sea view. Our cleaner Mohmed Matoaly was brilliant, spotless every day with some great towel art as well. We sat on the beach every day, but the new pools looked very busy. The guys at the beach bar gave great service and were always very friendly, in fact all the staff are brilliant, lobby, beach, restaurants and cleaners, we could not fault any of them. The restaurants have changed slightly, not all for the better. We personally did not find the food as good as it used to be, especially the breakfast, but we are nut fussy eaters and you can always find something if you can be bothered to look around. It is because of the food that we only gave a 4 this time, every other time it has been a 5. Also thought the Columbus coffee bar was not as good as it used to be. The only real problem that we had was the amount of rude and greedy Eastern European’s (mainly Russian)that fill their plates with so much food but have no intention of eating it and don’t get in their way if there are fresh strawberries about. They are so rude to staff it’s embarrassing, but this is not the hotels fault. Great weeks holiday and we will no doubt return again.

I cannot express how happy I am with my stay at Pickalbatros Royal Moderna Resort in Sharm El Sheikh. The level of effort and dedication put in by the entire team is truly remarkable. I would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Bassem and Mr. Mohamed Samy for their warm welcome, flexibility, and professionalism. They were always ready to answer my questions and ensured I got my rooms promptly for maximum comfort. Additionally, I’d like to thank Ramadan Ali from room service for his dedication, kindness, and for keeping my room spotless and comfortable every single day. This resort exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway. I’m already looking forward to returning very soon

Overall we had an amazing holiday and will certainly consider coming back, if we visit the area again. We went Nov 10-20th. Temp was 26-29 everyday. Sun was up early and started going down/emptying the pools around 4. This hotel had way more positives than negatives but I'll start off with the bad parts, so people can just see the issues, which may put them off. 5 Stars. It's a great hotel overall but people's ideal of 5 star will be different. Don't expect Hilton Shinjuku, Renaissance Bangkok, Shangri-La anywhere.... It's Sharm (no offence) and it's a family hotel. Things are going to be slightly rough around the edges, in places, it's busy, has lots of kids and you aren't paying top dollar, so go into it with realistic expectation. When i originally arrived i didn't think "wow 5 stars", there is random old wooden furniture, some things look a bit dated, but i looked past those really as i wasn't expecting bespoke 5 star fittings in a family hotel. i'd say 4-4.5 is fair. Heated Pool - We went in November 10th-20th. One of the reasons i chose this was previous review of heated pools. Most of the pools were not heated. There were 2 kids pools that were labelled as heated. A bottom one with a large water tower and a top one with a pirate ship. The bottom one was absolutely freezing all holiday and as a result it got 1/20th of the activity as the other. it was way to cold for most people. Luckily the top pool was slightly heated, so that was a nice temperature on 8/10 days. There were 2 days when this pool was too cold for our 3 year old, even i didn't go in as i thought it was cold, especially when you are out the water and the wind got you. But overall 8/10 days with a warm pool. The lack of activity in pool 1 meant every family wanted to use pool 2, so there were shortages of beds around that pool everyday. if both pools where empty, people would spread out more and there would be more availability overall. The bedroom door lock. Not a major issue, but it was the worst electronic lock I've ever experienced at a hotel. it could honestly take 20-30 attempts to open, slow, fast, leave it in, jiggle, it made no sense. very temperamental. The hotel is big. We were in block 3000-3024. This is right near the entrance and has family rooms with 2 bedrooms. It's a long walk to the heated pool or the beach. I didn't mind that much but if you are carrying a lot of things, or have kids who won't walk etc, it's a several minute walk, which some may not like. The good. The hotel overall was clean. The staff did a great job of looking after it. Even the toilets throughout were well monitored. The staff were excellent. Couldn't fault them for effort and attitude and they work long hours. They are there at breakfast and still there cleaning after the last meal, everyday. Ahmed Mahmoud by the pain pool. Mudammed Abdel in Tagine notably treated us well.
