The whole place had a terrible smell (I’m assuming from the old plumbing of the building) and usually I can get used to it but even after spending a long time in the room I still never did. The bedding was really uncomfortable too. The bedding and rooms in hostels and airbnb felt a lot cleaner and more comfortable than this place.
I do appreciate the service at the reception and the ability to store your luggage with them. That plus breakfast included justified some of the hidden costs you would acquire not staying at a hotel. Plus the location was good.

Hotel room is small compare to price is ok , balcony only view not accessible only open to see , no amenities or water in the room , location is perfect , noise is ok not too much after closing the window is manageable , staff very good , breakfast 3/10 no choices, at all compare to price and location is perfect .

With the only exception being in a good location. I wasn't impressed with the reception service. Twice I asked for my soap to be refilled in my bathroom. That didn't happen so I didn't bother to ask again. I felt the receptionist was trying to avoid me at all measures and wouldn't acknowledge me. On two separate occasions I was talking to him on the desk and he quickly shut me out and focused his attention to another resident which was rather rude and annoying. They didn't make any allowances or did they try to accommodate the fact I had to miss breakfast due to catching early morning trains. They refused to give me a pack up.

This hotel is a great location in El Centro Madrid. It had direct access to the must-sees. The hotel staff was so helpful and the ladies in the breakfast room was friendly and so professional! Oh! And the room had a balcony! The weather is perfect. We stayed during our trip to Madrid, checked out to go to Barcelona for a few days but stayed at the Hotel Mardisol again when we returned from Barcelona.

Excellent location and simplicity with check-in, breakfast and 24 hour desk assistance. Due to the central location, it got quite noisy during nights since the local bar life went on until around 4 in the morning.
As someone who wanted to spend time in the city, the price and included breakfast were the strong points.

One of the worst hotels i stayed in through my life.. old.. not clean and most importantly very very noisy location.. you can't sleep if it's the weekend..
