Petit Palace Santa Barbara

Great little gem in Madrid! Excellent location - a block from Alonso Martinez metro which has several lines so it's easy to get around the city. Only one transfer to get to the airport. Also, down the block there were many shops - pharmacy, stationery store, ATM, whatever you need. A small grocery store was about a 4 min walk away. I interacted with about 5 staff members over the course of our visit and each was friendly and helpful. Owner takes pride in running an excellent hotel. He checks in with the guests.

At first, my room wasn't ready for early check-in but when I showed them I had selected early check-in, they found a slightly better room for me and kept the rate the same. Rooms were neat and clean. Shower was fantastic with three different setting - rain head, rain head plus side heads, hand held only. Two luggage racks which was nice. Mini-fridge and safe. No microwave.

Fabulous brunch - at first, I tried to skip brunch and get the fee taken off because we seldom eat a big breakfast but it was included in my rate. I was glad in the end. There were so many options and the food (fruits, cured meats, 4+ types of cheese,, hot eggs/potatoes/veggies, cold veggies, pastries, yogurt, many types of milk, etc.) was very fresh. I especially enjoyed the cappuccino maker which made at least six types of drinks and had a steamed milk option. We tended to then have a late lunch near our tourist destination and skipped dinner since we were so full and jet lagged. Bartender was nice and gave us some nuts/candy with our drinks.

The clientele behaved well - they were a mix of business and pleasure. Nobody too loud. Our room was on the third floor which was away from the street noise. You will have some street noise since Madrid is a city. My only negative was that the rates were way high for two of our nights vs. other dates, likely because most hotels raised their rates when Taylor Swift came to town.

Super place to stay. The rooms were clean, it is not loud, the breakfast was perfect from my point of view. I will select that place again for my short trip to Madrid. Everything is easily reachable because it is in walking distance. Also the area is a good one and in front of the hotel is a space just to relax and grap a coffee

Super hotel, staff, cleanliness and comfort. If you are looking for a very nice place to stay in Madrid this is your hotel. It’s central to all major sights and the metro is right outside the hotel. From the beginning we were greeted by reception with curtesy. Belen, Sara and Sergio were always friendly and helpful. The director, Pablo, made sure our stay was top notch. Rooms were spacious and super clean. A big shoutout to the entire cleaning crew. Anything you asked for they provided without hesitation. I will definitely stay at Santa Barbara again. The location is amazing. We were able to easily catch the metro or bus to any location right outside the hotel. The staff went above and beyond in answering questions or accommodating requests. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend this hotel to others.

The rooms were perfect for us, we had decent beds a good amount of space and an amazing bathroom. We were provided with a shower, beds, desk and chair and small balcony. One of the only downside was the breakfast not being the greatest selection of food. However, the highlight of the petit palace was the location. We were surrounded by good restaurants (would recommend Billy’s brunch and cereal hunters). Most of all we were less than a minute away from a good train station which allowed us to travel to everywhere in the city!

Recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Petit Palace Santa Barbara during my visit to Madrid, and it was an absolutely delightful experience.

Manager Pablo and the entire staff at Hotel Petit Palace Santa Barbara deserve special mention. Their friendliness and professionalism made me feel right at home. Pablo, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was exceptional. His personalized attention and dedication to guest satisfaction were truly commendable.

The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated and well-appointed. The attention to detail was evident, from the cozy bed to the modern amenities. The cleanliness of the room and the entire hotel was impeccable, ensuring a pleasant and hygienic environment.

The hotel was great. The Alfonso Martinez metro entrance is right by the hotel. There is a convenience store nextdoor and several restaurants. The room was very clean and the bed comfy. My only complaint is there isnt or I couldnt find a fan in the bathoom for ventilation. Therefore, when i showered the steam fogged up the bathroom and room. It made it hot and humid.

Great location for this small non fuss hotel. Rooms are not very big but they are clean and functional. Personnel are super friendly and the breakfast was good.

I couldn't believe that I was given only one coffee cartridge to use the first day and asked to pay 1.50€ for each additional cartridge. I was able to find, at a local store, a box of 10 coffee ☕️ cartridges for only 1.97€. I think that for the price we pay to rent a room, the coffee cartridges should just be given at no cost
