The park is amazing and huge and you are right across from an entrance. Coffee shop steps away to the south and a few gem restaurants like Brisket around the corner. North is a popular street with outside seating restaurants all around and a shopping district. Museums and beautiful attractions nearby. And wiith all of this around you, somehow this place is just PEACEFUL. We had the windows facing the park open during the morning it was so quiet and nice.
Just fantastic all around. Would gladly stay here again!
The hotel is rated as a four stars? I wonder how they can claim this rating:
- they were running out of slippers, laundry bags and… hot water!
- the body lotion in the large dispenser was probably expired. It had a strange consistency and was leaving lots of clumps on the body.
- shower head was rusty. On our last day the water became white as milk and we even didn’t have hot water anymore.
- the bathroom furniture was literally falling apart.
- the room was very small with no hooks or place where to store clothes and luggages (there is only a wardrobe which is a small cubicle, not even a proper wardrobe).
- there was dirty brownish water in the kettle.
- no pen or pencil available
- the staff at the reception, although kind, is dressed with their own very casual (sporty) clothes. This doesn’t give a professional look at all.
Positive: El Retiro park in front of the hotel. Surprisingly good breakfast.
