The hotel owners – Greek family Tamiolakis. Spacious rooms with nice design, good service, good atmosphere and good location. Near the hotel are many restaurants and bars, discos and clubs. The centre of Hersonissos is 5 minutes on foot. The hotel is suitable for corporate events and celebrations. Offered a special package for honeymooners. Location: 25 km from Heraklion airport, 42 km from the center of Agios Nikolaos, 500 m from the centre of Hersonissos, 50 m from the beach.

Our travel agent booked us here and we didn’t even stay. I am perplexed by the inconsistency of these reviews and curious beyond measure the other travel experiences of people leaving good or great reviews. I am completely baffled as to how this hotel merits a 5 star status. Mind blown. We didn’t even stay. We checked in, with concern but open, and by the time we were left in our rooms we knew we weren’t happily spending 4 nights here and absolutely were not allowing it to ruin our overall holiday. The lobby furniture was worn and outdated. The pool small and the pool courtyard was covered with chairs and people lined up, over crowded. The elevator was in what felt like a closet, the bathroom paper bin was a regular trash can (like kitchen size) with no lid, no other paper bin. There was an extra bed (?) blocking the entry to the balcony, you had to step over it to go out to the balcony. We were told not to keep the balcony door opened because there were biting mosquitoes that would enter our room. The bed was hard, like a rock hard, and uneven. We would not have slept and would have been in pain. After reading reviews, I understand now when we left and they tried to show us their (nicer) section that they were going to upsell us. We took a hit as our travel agent is not seeking reimbursement and they get to keep our money for the 4 nights we didn’t stay. From my experience, I’m relating to the low reviews here and do not regret my decision at all, to leave and not ruin my holiday here. We were fortunate to book an ACTUAL 5 star resort on the beach which this can’t even compare to. This is no where close to any 5 or 4 star resort I’ve ever experienced. Maybe a 2 or 3 if we’re being generous.

Albatros hotel is very welcoming with all members of staff doing their best for visitors. We had a lovely room with a sea view, cleaned daily and all you need for an enjoyable stay. Very well located, away from the noise but close enough for walking to the hub.

This hotel is amazing especially for big families! The room is comfortable and clean, the staff is quick and helpful, the pool and spa are great. Although the gym is a bit lame you can enjoy the healthy choices in the cafeteria and go on walks next to the beach where you can enjoy a lot or great shopping places and things to do :) overall no flaws, thank you for the amazing service I have a great time

Great hotel in an ideal but quiet location within Hersonissos centre. Some of the rooms in the older building of the hotel are slightly dated so would recommend upgrading.
Attentive & helpful staff who are a credit to the hotel, always willing to help customers & provide very good service during mealtimes & at the bar.
Buffet evening food is okay, but lack of variety in the evenings & not always hot.
Ordered lunch a few times & was very impressed- gyros, club sandwich & Pizza.
Happy hour for cocktails also very good.
Would also add that tourist tax rate is charged at €10 a room a night (5* hotel rate) however, although a very good hotel, it is not 5* standard. Updating older rooms & improve dining experience would probably justify 5* tourist tax charge.
Nevertheless, very close to beach & highly recommended. Thank you.

We went as a couple from 3.6.-10.6.24 and stayed in a Superior room with pool view. From the arriving to departure day it was amazing. Very friendly and hardworking staff all around and they go beyond to help you with anything. The room was spacious and cleaned every day if you wanted to. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were buffet and changed a little at breakfast to something different at dinner everyday. They made sure there was something for everyone and it was delicious.
The beach is a walking distance of one minute with bars around. Shops are just around the corner from the hotel as well as a supermarket and car rentals if you are interested to explore the island by yourself.
We also went to the Euphoria Spa that is part of the hotel but you can also use it if you don't stay in the hotel. My partner had a Deep tissue massage from Lily and came back out after 1 hour a new man and so relaxed. I did a back, neck and shoulder massage with Eleni and she was so lovely and made you feel so relaxed and recharged after. Definitely go and visit the Spa, loads to choose from.
We enjoyed our first stay here and fell in love with Crete/Greece.
We definitely recommend staying here and we will be back at some point.

A very nice hotel in a great location. Close enough to bars and restaurants but quiet too on the edge of the resort.
Staff are great, speak very good English, the service is good and restaurant has very good food for the half board options. Probably the best hotel of a package deal I have had.
We had a superior room that overlooked the pool, it was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
Plenty of sunbeds and couches to cosy up on.
Close to the beach and plenty around to do.

Great value for money. The room, though looks a little "lived-in", was always kept very clean, had an amazing view of the sea and all the necessary amenities (except the useless TV, as it was not smart, so we didn't want to watch CNN or local channels). Very friendly staff everywhere, great variety of dishes at the restaurant, with a special flair on different cuisines every evening. Almost every evening there was some entertainment at the pool bar (DJ, live singers, etc.). The sea is around the corner. Highly recommended overall!

I have spent my stay here from 5 to 15 october 2023. This is easily the best hotel I have stayed at. The place is very clean, the neighbourhood is calm and safe. The staff is very polite and professional, but also genuinely happy to have a talk and a laugh with the guests. The food was very good for a hotel and there was a nice variety. Prices are very reasonable also. The pool is clean and nice also. If you want to travel to this part of Crete, I would really suggest staying at this place!

We are at the end of our 11 nights holiday at this hotel. I have to say, it has been brilliant. This is my first time in Greece, so I didn’t know what to expect, but the hospitality and customer service levels at this place far exceeded my expectations.
Every member of staff seems friendly and eager to do their best.
The hotel is a few meters away from the beach. I recommend wearing water shoes such as those used for kayaking because the beach can be rocky in some
Places. There are two average size pools with plenty of sun beds. The shady areas get reserved quickly but there is usually plenty of space.
As a family, we found our room (above the bar area) noisy some nights. We asked for a change, and although the hotel was fully booked, we were upgraded to another family room on the 4th floor with beautiful views and no noise.
Food and drink are good quality and competitively priced compared to local cafes and restaurants.
Plenty of partying options within walking distance for those in the mood, and lots of excursions and fun activities for families too.
All in all, I would highly recommend this place for anyone considering a holiday in Crete.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here,and both times in a superior room with pool view. Both times rooms have been immaculate. The hotel has a great location, close to sea/beach. Once you get your barings it's very easy to walk around the resort. Public transport not too far away and reasonably priced.
The staff are exceptional right through the hotel, particularly in the pool bar and pool area. Maria and her team were superb. Even when occasionally under pressure.
The hotel is kept spotlessly clean, plenty of sunbeds, all facilities are excellent.
I think the entertainment has room for improvement, although we enjoyed the Greek dance night.
Food was of very good quality but found it difficult at times to select food that compliments each other. Better signage of food in buffet area would be a big help.
