Filoxenia Beach Hotel

Such a beautiful hotel we had a fantastic week there. The location is amazing. All the staff were fabulous,nothing too much trouble..Eva the manager was fabulous,so friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is lovely and plentiful. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols which were free to use and lots of beach towels available all day. This was a great bonus as many places charge for sunbeds etc. Our room was large ,comfortable and very cool with the much needed air conditioning.Shower was a little small but still useable . There are toilets and a shower available at the hotel when you are on the beach or terrace, which saves you having to go back to your room . Rethymno old town about 25 mins walk . We would get a taxi into town and take a slow walk back when it was cooler. Well worth doing as it's a beautiful town and the sunsets at the port are just amazing. All-in all a beautiful relaxing holiday and would certainly recommend Hotel Filoxenia to everybody. Thanks Eva and all the staff for a great week xxx

This is a little beauty of a hotel. Quirky architecture. Really friendly. Right on the beach. The road outside is a bit of a challenge for pedestrians as it is a major easy west link for Rethymnon but once inside you are in a very nice place. Three levels of complimentary sunbeds to the sandy safe beach.

Nice room with large balcony and sea view... The best thing about this charming hotel is the staff!! Joanna and Eva take great care of the customer! Available and smiling! We are like family but it is not intrusive. The breakfast is great with fresh salty products and homemade sugars☺we recommend without hesitation!!! Thank you again for offering us this great stay 😁

From start to finish it was beautiful! Eva and her father were extremely welcoming, absoloutly stunning views amazing food and very accomadating. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Will definately be going back for a longer stay next year!!!!!

Hotel located on the roadside and on the seafront. No welcome on arrival (9 p.m.), but a personalized message to take possession of our room. Well maintained building, modern and clean, no elevator (many steps). Our room with balcony is located on the 2nd floor and has a main room with sofa bed, 2 single beds on the mezzanine, a mini fridge, air conditioning and TV. Additional storage would be a plus. Quiet environment, we didn't hear the street. The bathroom with toilet is small. Very warm welcome every day! Breakfast from 8 a.m., and simply perfect, excellent and complete! Sweet, savory, fresh produce, homemade cakes, fruit, tea/coffee/milk/fruit juice (no chocolate but that seems to be specific to the country), in buffet format. Tables on the terrace, with parasol, all by the sea. A real pleasure every morning! Outdoor swimming pool located under the hotel, so little sun, but sea so close and warmer than the swimming pool ;-). Towels provided, deckchairs, beach games. Hotel located approximately 20/25 minutes walk from the old town. Wireless. No parking, but you can park in an empty lot less than 10 minutes walk away.

Eva and her father are super friendly hosts, they always find a way how to start a conversation and ensure that their guests are having a pleasant stay. Breakast has a very good range of goodies. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The patio at the back is just a few steps away from the sandy beach. I quite liked the pool as it is protected by the building in the shade, l don't like staying in the sun, so this was a perfect choice for me! I will not hesitate to recommend this place to a friend!

The first thing you notice when you arrive is the smile of the owner, Eve. Her warm and personal attitude towards every guest is what makes the stay perfect. The breakfast is small and lovely, with homemade pastries and flavors.
The location is perfect, right by the sea and very close to restaurants and shops, within a short walking distance from the old city.

An excellent little hotel with the friendliest staff. Breakfast had a good hot and cold variety and was freshly cooked. Situated a 10/15 minute walk along the flat from the old town, it made for the perfect location. Quiet and peaceful both day and night but with a bustling little town close by. Eva and her staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. As mentioned in other reviews our bathroom was small and I'm not a small guy but it was adequate and I'd rather enjoy my holiday than moan about trivial things. On our final day we had a late flight but the hotel has a shower/ changing room for guests with toiletries and a hair dryer, so we could make the most of our time. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would like to thank Eva and all her staff for making our stay a lovely experience.
