The Met Hotel

I came expecting a five star experience. Unfortunately this falls way below the mark. Where to begin. The rooms feel very tired and outdated. The lighting is very low and dim, even in the bathroom. The finish and details are nowhere near five star. Old TV, no coffee machine in the room (it’s 2025 and a small coffee machine costs €50), ridiculous water faucets from the 1980’s (one for hot water, one for cold) with a modern design, NO proper shower!!!!!, tiny rooms, antique key system that takes you back to the 90’s, to name a few. I have stayed in rented apartments that were way above and beyond what this so called five star hotel offers in terms of comfort and convenience at half the price or less. I can compare this to an Ibis hotel or a Holiday Inn. The rooftop pool and bar close at 6… in the summer. 5 umbrellas for a whole hotel. In 37 degree heat. The surroundings are docks, warehouses and a very noisy road. Forget about walking to the center. It is a challenge and doesn’t feel safe at night. I will definitely NOT be returning, and I would definitely NOT have written this review if the hotel was actually 5 stars. The reason I wrote this is that the expectation and price do NOT justify the experience and it’s frankly a misleading advertisement.

I am very sorry but this is at best a select/business hotel and not a 5 star one.

I had a booking for their executive suite, which was severely underwhelming. We left the booking with everything paid midway and left for another hotel.

I could be giving more details on our decision for such a rushed departure but they are not for a public forum, and they would severely damage the image of this establishment.

We will just avoid it in the future, and be choosing one of the other, similarly priced, and actual 5 star hotels.

As I'm writing this review, I'm attending room 306, and I can tell from an experience that this place is simply awful! The host of our crew is a platinum member, and they tell them that even as a premium member, they don't do breakfast, secondly: the room is dirty, I mean, I'm bald guy and the room is filled with human long hair, I mean: long, freakishly long! The sink under the shower is stuck with dirt from the previous customers, and the door guy who doesn't make the difference between "end of the road" and "end of the building" but pretending to understand and speak English on a native level, given me an attitude, like I'm not a client but, I'm a peasant who just came here from nowhere and have to go!!! The service is bad, the room service is bad, the way of using the car park is ridiculous, and they can't just do better! We're on a business trip in Greece, and from the 45 places where we've been so far, this is the worst place, ever!!
I don't know if someone can or read these reviews from the management department, but this is not a way to do business! It's ridiculous, and it doesn't make any sense!!!
I can assure you that this is the last time in this hotel for our company!

Having traveled to nearly twenty countries and stayed in over a hundred hotels, this is the first time I’ve felt discriminated against, and it was extremely uncomfortable. The front desk staff were cold and dismissive, impatiently brushing off simple requests for water and help with the in-room phone, showing no sense of service at all. The decor is also in desperate need of an update—damp and heavy in tone. The only redeeming aspect was the breakfast, which was decent.

All the other hotels and guesthouses in Greece were warm and welcoming, making this one truly disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
