Great location, clean, everything is great

Other than being charged for some bottles of plain water from the room, the stay was otherwise great! Fully recommend.

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was nice and the staff was friendlier than the reviews seem to suggest - especially the housekeeping and breakfast staff (the housekeeper really did a nice and thorough job). Breakfast was good. We had a family room which was 2 connected normal rooms and fairly pricy but having the 2 bathrooms was a great help in the morning. The location of the hotel is also hard to beat. Walking distance to all of the best site.

As an American traveling in Europe, I’d encourage anyone to expect one less star - the star ratings of European boutique hotels can’t be compared to US ones. A 4 is like a US 3.

My one big gripe with the place was the lack of AC. The AC didn’t work at all. We were there in winter. The room was insanely hot for some unknown reason but we just opened the windows (something I’m hesitant to do because of rats in the room). And it wasn’t just off - the thermostats were in disrepair. I don’t think I could have stayed here in the summer with that kind of heat.

The staff Ali gave us very good suggestions to the restaurants around the hotel. The location is convenient to everywhere in Rome.

Staff at front desk were not friendly. We are a group of 11 pax, stayed for 4 nights x 4 rooms. When we requested for a change on one of the hotel room bcoz room is hot eventhough they attempted to provide a blower, they denied our request claiming that no availability of rooms. Was unacceptable reply. Eventually, they placed 2 blowers in the rooms.
Also, most of our rooms, there were water leakage issues on mixers or low water pressure issues, again, when brought up to front desk, no improvement.
On 1 instance, we got help from front desk to assist in booking a taxi to airport, when requested to delay timing by half an hour due to flight delay (gave 7 hours advance notice), again, front desk staff said cannot change the booking timing. Another unacceptable reply.
Overall, hotel is old, no amenities, poor service!

Good all round hotel, breakfast was good too with a range of foods - just enough for non-meat eaters too.  First night room was extremely hot, no air conditioning allowed on . We were advised this was due to climate change related rules for the winter months. They turned our room heating off and provided a fan so the temperature was just about  manageable. Tea/coffee  provisions  in the room which was handy for a late night cuppa .  No complimentary water on arrival, common theme in Italy. Overall  would recommend as this was a handy location to a number of tourist attractions. Fresh, clean and upto date rooms. Customer service fine. Downside -see mid pic. This is a wall fridge - enough space for  a few water bottles side by side not anything else - Hotels water x4 plus I alcohol drink at cost .No room for anything else - Not ideal for summer stay. We had sweets/chocolate that were melting in November and only managed to squeeze a few in the fridge by taking out the hotel bottles.

1) Arrival: Took a very long time to check into our hotels. Observed multiple receptionists playing video games on their computer at their desk. Only provided 1 room card for a family of 5, needed to request extra room cards.
2) Interior: TV was unable to turn on.
Aircon also does not work, had to open the windows to allow air circulation. Bath tub was also dirty with brown stains/mold. Water is not complementary, and it is 2 euro for a bottle in your room
3) Breakfast: very limited options available. "Hot food" were cold. Banana was the only fresh fruit option, the other "fruits" were canned fruits such as canned pineapples.
4) WiFi was extremely slow and basically unable to be used even for basic websites on your phone or laptop
5) No slippers, no bath rope, no conditioner were provided
6) Only PROS: less than 5mins walk from Roma Termini Station.

Overall, I seriously don't understand how this hotel is rated as 4 stars when the basics (such as aircon and TV) don't even work

This was an extremely disappointing stay. The staff treated us as a nuisance, as a pain for them. A local came in at the same time as us and was treated completely different than an American traveler. The room had no air conditioning but the staff still treated us like we were stupid and tried to convince us that the air was working. The solution was not to change us to another room, or apologize, or provide a discount. The solution was to bring us a portable air conditioner. The air conditioner was a can with five ice cubes in it. At check out we did not get a good morning, thanks for your stay. A good by travel safe, only another rude exchange. I would not recommend a stay here. The staff does not respect tourists.

This hotel is a decent one with a number of positive attributes - ideal location within walking distance of many major sites, decent room, decent breakfast. The major criticism is similar to others I have seen posted here. Air conditioning and water fluctuation when showering. The air conditioning did not work in our room. This contrasted to the cool temperature in the lobby. I complained to the front desk and they assured me someone from maintenance would look at it. No one came. With temperatures @ 40 + in Rome this is unacceptable. When I brought this up during check out, the gentleman left and was hiding behind the back wall and did not return- very unprofessional. When taking a shower, the temperature would fluctuate between hot and cold, being scalded and frozen alternatively within seconds. Aside from these issues, this hotel could be a real gem. It's unfortunate this hotel cannot or is unwilling to address these issues. Needless to say, I will not booking again at this hotel the next time I'm in Rome.

I travelled in various cities in Italy for the past 12 days and all of other hotels were perfect except Hotel Genova which was the worst of all. Despite good location, service was very bad by receptionists. You wouldn’t feel welcome even at the check in although hotel price was not cheap. In addition, noise from street can be clearly heard from the hotel room throughout the nights. Room walls were also thin. You could hear noise from the nearby rooms and main path whenever someone was walking pass your room as well. Besides that, shower room does not even have any tray to put amenities. I needed to put all toileteries outside the shower room itself and got out time by time to pick shampoo, conditioner etc. one by one. Plus, water temperature was not stable. It could go from warm to extremely hot and then cold. Overall, it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed and I would not recommend anyone to stay here at all. It sucks.
