Reviews
As an American traveling in Europe, I’d encourage anyone to expect one less star - the star ratings of European boutique hotels can’t be compared to US ones. A 4 is like a US 3.
My one big gripe with the place was the lack of AC. The AC didn’t work at all. We were there in winter. The room was insanely hot for some unknown reason but we just opened the windows (something I’m hesitant to do because of rats in the room). And it wasn’t just off - the thermostats were in disrepair. I don’t think I could have stayed here in the summer with that kind of heat.
Also, most of our rooms, there were water leakage issues on mixers or low water pressure issues, again, when brought up to front desk, no improvement.
On 1 instance, we got help from front desk to assist in booking a taxi to airport, when requested to delay timing by half an hour due to flight delay (gave 7 hours advance notice), again, front desk staff said cannot change the booking timing. Another unacceptable reply.
Overall, hotel is old, no amenities, poor service!
2) Interior: TV was unable to turn on.
Aircon also does not work, had to open the windows to allow air circulation. Bath tub was also dirty with brown stains/mold. Water is not complementary, and it is 2 euro for a bottle in your room
3) Breakfast: very limited options available. "Hot food" were cold. Banana was the only fresh fruit option, the other "fruits" were canned fruits such as canned pineapples.
4) WiFi was extremely slow and basically unable to be used even for basic websites on your phone or laptop
5) No slippers, no bath rope, no conditioner were provided
6) Only PROS: less than 5mins walk from Roma Termini Station.
Overall, I seriously don't understand how this hotel is rated as 4 stars when the basics (such as aircon and TV) don't even work
The aftermath was equally frustrating. I reported the theft to the hotel management and filed a police report. I also provided proof of purchase for the stolen items, as requested. However, despite all the documentation and a lengthy investigation by the hotel's insurance, which took over seven months, I was not compensated for the loss.
The lack of communication and resolution from the hotel's side has been deeply disappointing. I expected a higher level of professionalism and accountability, especially given the security measures the hotel claims to have in place. This experience has left me feeling unsafe and unsupported by the hotel.
Would not recommend staying here based on my experience.
The breakfast was very good and had an excellent variety, however the hot food is not kept warm in the Bain Marie so is often cold. The selection of pastries was very good.
Fabulous location, very close to Roma Termini station, which is a starting point for many tours.
Many great and affordable restaurants nearby as well.
And it made the room extremely cold and hot.
One or 2 Staff persons were really good who were during the morning shift.
But
The evening and night staff were like why do you need the think it is in your room already in the middle of the night.
I wanted to get some sugar and milk/creamer for tea/coffee and the night staff kept saying it is in your room when I came down at 11:45pm. Even though I told the person I had used it, I guess they didn't want me to have tea/coffee. Which is absurd and trying to force Italian culture on other people that is way out of line.
Also, when asked for extra water bottle (paid for) they said its in your room.
Why can't this hotel give people what they want rather than asking silly questions. Like why you need it or saying it's in your room.
If it was a one or 2 star hotel I could have been ok but considering it has been rated 4 stars on google I says it's not worth it.
Also, they leave your room door open after cleaning and make it a security concern for your products and luggage in the room
