We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was nice and the staff was friendlier than the reviews seem to suggest - especially the housekeeping and breakfast staff (the housekeeper really did a nice and thorough job). Breakfast was good. We had a family room which was 2 connected normal rooms and fairly pricy but having the 2 bathrooms was a great help in the morning. The location of the hotel is also hard to beat. Walking distance to all of the best site.

As an American traveling in Europe, I’d encourage anyone to expect one less star - the star ratings of European boutique hotels can’t be compared to US ones. A 4 is like a US 3.

My one big gripe with the place was the lack of AC. The AC didn’t work at all. We were there in winter. The room was insanely hot for some unknown reason but we just opened the windows (something I’m hesitant to do because of rats in the room). And it wasn’t just off - the thermostats were in disrepair. I don’t think I could have stayed here in the summer with that kind of heat.

Staff at front desk were not friendly. We are a group of 11 pax, stayed for 4 nights x 4 rooms. When we requested for a change on one of the hotel room bcoz room is hot eventhough they attempted to provide a blower, they denied our request claiming that no availability of rooms. Was unacceptable reply. Eventually, they placed 2 blowers in the rooms.
Also, most of our rooms, there were water leakage issues on mixers or low water pressure issues, again, when brought up to front desk, no improvement.
On 1 instance, we got help from front desk to assist in booking a taxi to airport, when requested to delay timing by half an hour due to flight delay (gave 7 hours advance notice), again, front desk staff said cannot change the booking timing. Another unacceptable reply.
Overall, hotel is old, no amenities, poor service!

1) Arrival: Took a very long time to check into our hotels. Observed multiple receptionists playing video games on their computer at their desk. Only provided 1 room card for a family of 5, needed to request extra room cards.
2) Interior: TV was unable to turn on.
Aircon also does not work, had to open the windows to allow air circulation. Bath tub was also dirty with brown stains/mold. Water is not complementary, and it is 2 euro for a bottle in your room
3) Breakfast: very limited options available. "Hot food" were cold. Banana was the only fresh fruit option, the other "fruits" were canned fruits such as canned pineapples.
4) WiFi was extremely slow and basically unable to be used even for basic websites on your phone or laptop
5) No slippers, no bath rope, no conditioner were provided
6) Only PROS: less than 5mins walk from Roma Termini Station.

Overall, I seriously don't understand how this hotel is rated as 4 stars when the basics (such as aircon and TV) don't even work

This was an extremely disappointing stay. The staff treated us as a nuisance, as a pain for them. A local came in at the same time as us and was treated completely different than an American traveler. The room had no air conditioning but the staff still treated us like we were stupid and tried to convince us that the air was working. The solution was not to change us to another room, or apologize, or provide a discount. The solution was to bring us a portable air conditioner. The air conditioner was a can with five ice cubes in it. At check out we did not get a good morning, thanks for your stay. A good by travel safe, only another rude exchange. I would not recommend a stay here. The staff does not respect tourists.

This hotel is a decent one with a number of positive attributes - ideal location within walking distance of many major sites, decent room, decent breakfast. The major criticism is similar to others I have seen posted here. Air conditioning and water fluctuation when showering. The air conditioning did not work in our room. This contrasted to the cool temperature in the lobby. I complained to the front desk and they assured me someone from maintenance would look at it. No one came. With temperatures @ 40 + in Rome this is unacceptable. When I brought this up during check out, the gentleman left and was hiding behind the back wall and did not return- very unprofessional. When taking a shower, the temperature would fluctuate between hot and cold, being scalded and frozen alternatively within seconds. Aside from these issues, this hotel could be a real gem. It's unfortunate this hotel cannot or is unwilling to address these issues. Needless to say, I will not booking again at this hotel the next time I'm in Rome.

I had an unfortunate experience at Hotel Genova, which I feel compelled to share. During my stay, my bag was stolen from the hotel's storage room, which was supposed to be secure and supervised by security personnel and cameras. Despite this, the incident occurred, leading to a distressing situation.

The aftermath was equally frustrating. I reported the theft to the hotel management and filed a police report. I also provided proof of purchase for the stolen items, as requested. However, despite all the documentation and a lengthy investigation by the hotel's insurance, which took over seven months, I was not compensated for the loss.

The lack of communication and resolution from the hotel's side has been deeply disappointing. I expected a higher level of professionalism and accountability, especially given the security measures the hotel claims to have in place. This experience has left me feeling unsafe and unsupported by the hotel.

Would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

Spent 4 nights in mid July 2024. I had read the reviews prior to my stay and so was aware of the issue of the shower suddenly running hot for a few minutes and so I agree that this is a problem. We only used the hand held shower heads to avoid getting scalded.
The breakfast was very good and had an excellent variety, however the hot food is not kept warm in the Bain Marie so is often cold. The selection of pastries was very good.
Fabulous location, very close to Roma Termini station, which is a starting point for many tours.
Many great and affordable restaurants nearby as well.

Booked to due the location mainly. 20 minute walk to the Colosseum and close to the main train station. Ideal location for a tourist in Rome. Had to use metro minimally when exploring the city. The day staff were helpful and polite but the evening staff were rude. The room looked tidy upon arrival however all surfaces were sticky and had a layer of dust. Seemed the bathroom had been half cleaned. Shower was not cleaned adequately. The rooms were cleaned daily. Bed sheets were clean. Shower pressure was poor and the temperature changed randomly from hot to cold. Breakfast was good depending on what time you arrived. Open from 7 to 10:30 breakfast options were good. Did not have access to latte on the coffee machines all week. Orange juice ran out early and was not topped up. Donuts were always fresh and well as other pastries. Spent minimal time in the hotel as we had a packed schedule. Be aware they tack of a charge of 7.50 per person per night which was not explained upon check in or when we booked online so a slight shock when we check out. Would not recommend compared to other experiences in similar hotels and if we went back would definitely choose a different hotel.

We stayed for a few days here and we wanted to thank the concierge who worked on 25 June 2024 at around 12:00am. We came into the hotel very early after our flight changed and they managed to accommodate us with an extra room for an affordable price before our official check in the next day. They were so accommodating and helpful. The other worker set up our room super quickly despite being so late and without a fuss. Thankyou again for offering us a room we could afford. We enjoyed our stay. The showers temperature would sometimes get extremely hot but apart from that it was fantastic. Thanks again

Air Conditioning did not work in the room had to use the main circuit board to turn it on or off.
And it made the room extremely cold and hot.

One or 2 Staff persons were really good who were during the morning shift.
But
The evening and night staff were like why do you need the think it is in your room already in the middle of the night.

I wanted to get some sugar and milk/creamer for tea/coffee and the night staff kept saying it is in your room when I came down at 11:45pm. Even though I told the person I had used it, I guess they didn't want me to have tea/coffee. Which is absurd and trying to force Italian culture on other people that is way out of line.

Also, when asked for extra water bottle (paid for) they said its in your room.

Why can't this hotel give people what they want rather than asking silly questions. Like why you need it or saying it's in your room.

If it was a one or 2 star hotel I could have been ok but considering it has been rated 4 stars on google I says it's not worth it.

Also, they leave your room door open after cleaning and make it a security concern for your products and luggage in the room
