Fimka Hotel

A big NO. This is not a hotel for tourists, it is just a place for "entrepreneurs" who come to Istanbul to buy clothes to spend the night. The location is near the main historical attractions, 10 minutes walk to the Bazar and 20 minutes to the Mosques, but the nearest Havaist station to go to the IGA airport means walking for 10 minutes on narrow streets with no sidewalks. While at some point the rooms were renovated, they are not able to clean them properly. This is actually one of the first things we asked when we checked in, to have the bathroom cleaned. You can hear every noise from the hallway, so for us staying at the second floor was a nightmare, as we could hear all the people returning in the evening at the hotel and the breakfast preparation early in the morning. When we complained at the reception, we were told that a group of tourist was making the noise. Breakfast is a big joke and if you want to take it around 9 o'clock, good luck finding something to eat. The elevator is in the clothes shop near the hotel. When we checked in we were asked to leave all the passports at the reception. We only received them back after paying in advance, even though the reservation was done via booking and all the payment details were given in advance. This seems to be a common practice at this hotel, as they had quite a lot of passports. The only good thing that I can mention is the wifi connection.
