Jurnal Hotel

Very dirty room .dirty bed sheet .dirty cover with yellow spots. Very smelly water not good for health .Receptionist was extremely disrespectful when we kindly asked for new towels and sheets. Only cleaned our room the first 2 days and then after that never did again. Breakfast is terrible. Our shower was leaking and our room door didn't even properly lock half the time. Overall the experience at this hotel was terrible. They took our money, gave us terrible service and proceeded to cuss me and my family out in their own language because we simply wanted the basic things a hotel offers. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you can't Receptionist can't provide simple respect to it's customers, then they shouldn't be in the hotel business.

This is the first hotel where I have genuinely not felt welcome at any point, and the lack of basic hospitality set a negative tone for our entire stay.

This is a budget hotel with budget customer service, particularly with the evening reception staff, who acted like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests, and got very rude and aggressive when we asked him to make a note of our card deposit. Perhaps a reminder is needed that his job only exists because of guests?

For the hotel itself, the Wi-Fi was okay, and the shower had good water pressure. The room was very basic, but was to be expected for a budget hotel. It was however very small and had poor lighting, with minimal space to hang clothes. The bathroom had a nasty smell coming from the drains, which we had to cover with soap each night to stop the room from smelling like a sewer. The mini fridge light worked, but the actual fridge element did not.

The included Turkish breakfast was very tasty, however based on other recent reviews, it appears the portion size has since been reduced by about 50%.

The morning staff seemed very nice and if they were at reception for the rest of the day, this review might be quite different. Unfortunately, despite its location, the Jurnal Hotel isn’t worth your money and I cannot recommend it, especially when there are so many other places to stay in Istanbul.

extremely small, they do not have

from the photos they show, the
owner came with promises that
he never fulfilled, he also did not
want to make money back to
compensate for the suffering, the
cleanliness is nonexistent, dirty
sheets and towels, nails on the floor, under the bed I found other
people's scumbags and dirt on the
floor, blocked bathroom drain, the
refrigerator is not a refrigerator
because it does not cool down, they
did not give me a double bed with
a large mattress as I hired but two
uncomfortable little beds, if you
do not insistently claim or change
towels you can have, the bathroom
door is a table with top opening in
bottom of about 40 centimeters
each, without a handle that opens
on its own, which does not give
privacy, without an extractor fan
or window.The employees will
find them friendly but they only
make promises to solve their
inconveniences but then they never solve anything. It should not
be enabled to function as a hotel.
Don't be fooled by the photos or the
price.

The hotel is lovely, the staff is friendly and helpful, but the design and lighting of the rooms are atrocious.

Good location but you get what you pay for. Tiny rooms. Very thin walls. We could heat the person next door snoring as if he was in the same room. We could hear the cleaner in the room above moving around really loud. Sink is outside the toilet and inside the bedroom area. Cramped small rooms. Shower was broken. We checked in at 8 am and I asked for a refund at 8 30am. Management were understanding and cancelled my booking less one night which I'd technically stayed. No hassle

Very noisy place to stay. Street nearby was very loud, and windows are that old that it looks like they do not exist regarding noise. Rooms are not that clean, but not horrible. Servise was ok, in respect that receptionist called taxi for us, and switched rooms for less noisy ones. Overall, would not recomend to anybody.
