Uranus Istanbul Topkapi

Not a five-star hotel. The gym and breakfast were the positives while there were many negatives inclusing the cleanliness. The rooms are outdates andworn out. They do not like a room in a five-star hotel as you may see in the photos. To be fair, the hotel does not charge you for a five-star room as well. here were dust everywhere. There are also stains on the carpte. The most annoying thing was the strong smell of smoke from the previous visitors which got better after two days. Since the windows were open, it appears they were aware of this issue, yet they ignored it and gave us the room. This hotel is probably not suitable for people with family speaiclly with seniors. This hotel is not close to Metro station. You can access T1 which is a tram line in 5-7 minutes. This tram takes to the heart of Istanbul in 20 minutes. The T1 however is usually very packed and busy. I do not suggest it for families and seniors who are planning to use public transport. The area generally seems safe despite being close to the highway and being a noisy to some extent. There is nothing ineterst in that area. There are only a couple of shisha longes in the street behind the hotel where young locals go to for smoking shisha and drinking tea and coffeee. On the bright side, the breakfast was great. It had lots of options despite some negative comments here. Also, I did visti the gym and they had lots of equipments.

On the day of arrival, the hotel canceled reservations and an unpleasant, even arrogant receptionist told you to book the room again at double the price. I am just at the airport on my way to Istanbul. I have been a guest of this hotel twice and they never behaved like this. I do not recommend this place this time.

The hotel is far from 5 stars.
Customer service is too bad. You ask a question and don't get an answer. Breakfast variant of options but non quality imagine 5 stars hotel provide you juice from the automat which made out of powder. You consider it as there is no wifi in the hotel because it is not working at all and more .....

1. Extremely dirty hotel.. on the day of arrival there was Extremely bed smell on the whole floor and we could not even breath. And then hotel changed the floor and room for us.
2. Rooms looks OK but they are Extremely bad, dirty carpet and never been washed..full of germs we got ill there. Toilet Exhaust not working. Tea coffee Kettle broken my fingers got burnt.
3. Extremely uncomfortable pillows, feels like there are some used cloths filled inside..
4. Hotel restaurant has tasteless food and very expensive.
4.a. Manager called Mehmut was extremely unprofessional, rude, forcefully charged us 600 TKL service fee which was not mention on their menu or not explained by their staff at the time of placing order. I mean they can ask you any amount in the name of service charges because its not written anywhere.
4.b. When we have asked then to packed the food As we couldn't eat that tastless food, out of 3 dishes, they have only packed one and stole other 2 which costed us over 4 thousand Tirkish lira. Total bill was 6000 TURKISH LIRA
4.c When we involved Hotel management to assist us with this worst behaviour and fraud done by their restaurant then Hotel manager didn't do anything.
4.d. we denied for service charges ONLY not the bill.. until they send us food we asked to pack, then they start disturbing us, and start knocking and banging the door in every few minuts, and start threatening us. Kids were sleeping at that time. They bring a police man who even couldn't understand us, the police man was only listening to them and not us. My children gotup and got scared because of there threatening behaviour. I don't know if Turkish police normally do that to listen to only one side or only their people and not listening to tourist.
5. They provide the taxis and sim cards at double the price what you can get from other places.
6. While we were using the swimming pool and our kids were playing in the water then one of their staff came in to ask our kids to be quite as they were busy providing massage to someone who was disturbing!! What a joke!!! (They should mentioned kids are not welcome)
We asked to Sterile our baby feeding bottles in microwave they didn't help us in that issue too. Staff was asking me (ok after Sterilisation of bottles where did germs go) making fun of Sterilising baby feeding bottles.
After that someone was taking my pictures and hiding his cell phone.
We travel worldwide but never experienced such type of behaviour or discomfort.
Worse hotel, worse food, worse customer service... Avoid it..
