We had a short but wonderful stay. The area is very nice and calm, our room was perfect and we slept really well in the beds. The breakfast was also great with a lot to choose from. I would definitely come back and recommend this place!

It's a decent hotel with a good price/quality ratio. I always enjoyed my stays there. Sure you won't get Hilton style rooms here, but therefore you won't pay that price either. There's basic new furniture in some rooms, others are like the time has stopped some 30/40 years ago, when they must have been really grand rooms and this hotel at the height of its time. Beautiful hotel, clean room, low cost, ok breakfast

The hotel is somewhat central, and looks a little shabby from the outside. The rooms are great, though, and the lady at the reception was very helpful.

From the outside it looks like the hotel from hell. First thought was, no way am I gonna sleep here tonight. But on the inside everything is entirely different. Looks terrifying from the outside but it's honestly a we'll run establishment. The staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast is very good and the rooms are ok. Super dated but ok. Clean but beat up. I could stay there again. Low price.

The furniture is reeeeaally dated. But if you can spare modern standards and convenience, give it a shot! Fair price for being close to Hamburg's nightlife at Reeperbahn.

Close by to S Bahn. Can get ICE Train to Hamburg Harburg. One stop to S Bahn. S Bahn takes you direct to key points in Hamburg. Simple, clean rooms. Good breakfast, simple.

Great hotel with reception open 24 hrs. Great room, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Only minus is location, quite far from Hamburg city center.

Nice rooms and great breakfast for the price. You are close to a subway station, which makes getting to your destination easy. There is also free parking, which is a plus in such a crowded city

Clean and close to alot of pubs/bars. No service other than check in/check out. Alot of **** smell and noise. Would stay here only if traveling solo and on a budget.

Good budget option when staying near Reeperbahn, nothing special but good option. Would consider coming again because of the good location.

Tiny rooms but for a single traveler are perfect

It did the job I spent 4 nights while a tourist in Hamburg. Hotel Altan did the job for me. It's a couple of short blocks from the U-Bahn station and a 20 minute walk to the center. There are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. The neighborhood was lively but my room was quiet.

Very convenient, excellent service, and a very complete and delicious breakfast, except for the fruit. An important detail is that the elevator is only for one person; two fit, but it's tight.

The hotel was a good value for money, the breakfast was very good, there was no noise at all in the hotel, I forgot a sweater and a cap in the closet, I sent the hotel an email about it, let's see if I hear anything about the items,

While the hotel boasts a central and convenient location, I would advise against exploring the city at night, particularly if you are a female traveler, due to the presence of a high number of individuals struggling with addiction in the neighborhood.

I've stayed in several 4-star hotels that weren't nearly as good as the ibis Hamburg Alster City. It's a mystery to me why it only gets 2 stars. The friendliness at reception, the well-chilled beer, the rooms and their amenities, and the price are top-notch.

The hotel, room, breakfast was adequate, but there are work done in the hotel basement with VERY LOUD drilling on weekdays from 07:30. I complained to the manager, was promised a compensation, he took my room number, but never heard anything back. Not recommened.

Fair place to stay near Central Station. Lots of shops around for lower class and gastarveiters in Germany. No direct entrance to Lobby. 40 stairs up your challenge to climb with your luggage to reach reception!

Near Central train station, however the neighbourhood is quite messy with vendors on streets and many loitering nearby. Amenities a little short, pay for beverages and no kettle in room. Lift at intermediate floor.

There is about 30 steps to the reception and elevator. This hotel is not suitable to people who can't walk so many steps. In the room is old carpet full of dust. Near railwaystation, very lively area.

Charming room with a queen bed and a sofa bed, designed for two person to share. Room has a very tall ceiling and it's own terrace. There are two shared lounge areas and a nice yard both front and back. It got characters.

Great stay during the ironman race

It's quite good, within walking distance of the airport. The bed is small, but it's fine against the wall. The room is not large, but it meets basic needs. The price was high during the exhibition, which was unpleasant. It's not worth the money. It has Wi-Fi. I wish the price was more competitive.

I could smell smoke that was not good!! and there were no elevators! The staff were helpful to help me with the luggage.. The breakfast was OK. Hope they can separate smoking and non smoking rooms ....

Basic, no fuss hotel. The reception area with its plane seats is fun and the kids loved it. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. Car park is convenient and free. This is a short drive away from the airport and near petrol stations. The rooms are basic and a little dated but comfortable and had everything we needed. There are steps to the reception and rooms, and no lift.

so clean bathrooms. great bed, pillow and bed linen. I slept so well. bad luck for me where the s3 and 31 did not work due to a major traffic accident weeks ago. and the hotel staff did not mention the exceptional route. it costed me time and money to get to the hotel.

Finding a way to this hotel, especially during night is bit difficult. Reception is on the first floor, for the first timers, like you will not know where to go whom to ask.

Basically very clean, but there was a small patch of mold on the window. Otherwise, it's only suitable for summer holidays, not winter, as heating is only via ventilation. Aside from that, it's a super nice hotel with very good service, though the receptionist needs to be careful to tell me the same thing and not different stories.

The rooms are very clean and the location is excellent. There is a street about a 7- minute walk away called Lange Reihe (Long Road) that has excellent restaurants and bars on it. There is a metro station just 1.5 blocks away, a grocery store, and 3 bakeries... We loved the local bar that is in the hotel. Great bartenders and great cocktails. The room was comfortable and this hotel is a good value...

Sauna closes at 22:00. Room 101 is right over the bar (where it's sometimes stand-up comedy night.) Front desk very helpful and courteous in English. A good basic stopover.

A bit of a hike from the nearest station but also in a nice area and affordable especially during the busy weekend. Staff were welcoming and made the joke that there is a lockout at midnight. Kept a straight face and definitely got us good. Room wasn't anything top standard but cosy enough for a night. Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on that. Average hotel out of the centre, but close to S-bahn. Good services, cramped rooms. Good connection to the airport. Perfect for short business stay.

The cleaning lady was very friendly, the evening manager a little less. With out checking the lady was friendly. We didn't take breakfast so that we can't tell. There was free parking so that's a huge plus as well.

A dignified old building in the middle of the City, CCH, Dammtor in front of the door, Parking for free. a little patience is required, super nice staff, Breakfast ok, room 21 bathroom krabbelig, efficient lighting, Wi-Fi ok, no fridge, but the window to open it. Acceptable for the price.

A house with several different levels of the hotel. For short stays, close to the centre. Staff very friendly and attentive. The room was very small.

Good rooms and nice breakfast for the price. The only problem is their booking system. They always tend to send invoices via email, which is more appreciated, but it is never sent unless you call them multiple times (each time at least 10-15 minutes of checking things) to make them send it.

Super nice hotel. Breakfast is very varied, high quality, much stuff homemade and mostly eco/organic. Every inch of the hotel is spotless. Staff very helpful and smiling, good atmosphere all around. In vicinity is a big shopping center, restaurants and not least a train station with comfy trains directly to Hauptbahnhof, Skt. Pauli etc. Can't think of anything but one itty bitty thing to 'complain...

The Room is small and only has a single Bed with a small TV. The Bed is comfortable. The breakfast is a bit spartan es well so I'd say the hotel is a bit overpriced.

For our trip to Germany we had chosen for our arrival in Hamburg to stay overnight at the Kocks Hotel, which is run by a family. Small but pleasant hotel, located at a crossroads, but very quiet, in the rooms. Good breakfast, very clean and very friendly service and also a private parking, definitely recommended.

Nice hotel located very close to the Hamburg airport, around 800 meters. Rooms are simple and clean. Breakfast is good and Staff is kind. The hotel also provide a free shuttle service to the airport. I would give the cleanliness, service, breakfast and location to airport 5 stars... nothing better, but therefore the hotel is at the corner of 2 busy streets and if you have the window open in the summer very loud. Other than that we had an awesome stay.

Simple hotel near the airport. Cheep, but not much else. The floor creaks when you walk around which makes quite a bit of noise.

Unfortunately no air-con in the rooms. So during my stay, where it has been very hot outside, it also was much too warm inside (in the room)! The windows only have curtains - but since the street is a rather busy street, it would improve and reduce the noise level, when the hotel rooms pointing towards the "Rothenbaum Chaussee", when these would be equipped with either oustide window blinds, or window...

I did not like the steps up to the landing where the lift was, which are difficult for my wife, who uses a Rollator, to negotiate. I was pleased about the breakfast and in particular being told that the cappuccino and espresso coffee that my wife and I are so used to at home are also on offer.

It was fine. The customer service was not friendly or inviting as other posts had said. Also, I sat down to breakfast thinking it was included (I had forgotten whether I booked breakfast or not). I told my server my room number and they acted as though it was included, but then I was handed a bill at the end. I had not booked breakfast and this is my fault ultimately, but the server really should have...

The room was pretty clean id say, the one or the other wall could do with a fresh coat of paint but it was fine. I traveled alone and I felt completely safe there, so that was good. It being directly at the train station definitely is a plus too.

Convenient and close to transport

I arrived at the hotel quite late. The front desk of the hotel was already closed. The hotel is a self-service check-in. The lighting in the room is very weird and makes people feel uneasy. There are three Buddha statues placed on the bedside. The toilet light is green, which is very strange. The only advantage is that it is close to the train station and is convenient for travel.

This hotel is good location which nearby Stellingen train station and take only 7 stop to reach at Jungfernstieg station. This area is shopping and good restaurant near the river.

When i went to take a shower the drain did not work so the whole bathroom floor got wet
