We stayed here last summer in July 2023. The hotel's location is excellent. We had a room with a lovely view of daily rowers in a big lake in front of the hotel. The breakfast room was located on a higher floor with a lovely view of the lake and there was also a rooftop bar for drinks in the evening. Hamburg is a lovely little city. It took us about 30 to 40 minutes to walk to the old town. There was also a good walking tour. The people were friendly and respectful. We used it as a base to visit my husband's family in Bremen, and his city of birth in Kiel.

I'm a Marriott Elite member, a Google (maps) guide around the world, and top 5% reviewer on Maps, and this is probably the first time I will ever give a 1 star rating for a hotel, not because of the hotel itself but because of 1 person (waitress) that gave me the WORST experience I have ever had in any hotel around the world. Her arrogance, lack of service initiative, lack of respect, and lack of manners was the worst I have experienced (at breakfast time, on my first day at the hotel) that I would probably check out at this instant and move to the main Marriott Hotel if it wasn't fully booked. I already had my complaints upon arrival and the hotel facilities on the first few minutes I was here (rooms are okay), but THIS ONE was the cap. My worst restaurant personnel experience. While I'm tempted to tell exactly what happened, I would rather leave it at this---NEVER AGAIN at this Hotel. NEVER.

We had a great stay at the Renaissance Hotel Hamburg. The comfort and service quality of the hotel were excellent. I would especially like to thank Ahmet, one of the front desk staff members. He was incredibly friendly, respectful, and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. If I decide to stay here again, it would be because of exceptional staff like Ahmet. Highly recommended!

Absolutely stellar customer service at this hotel!!! I cannot say enough about this place. I stayed here in July 2024 with my family. It’s a boutique Marriott hotel and is charming, clean, great location, excellent food and drinks, but the staff here made our stay five stars. My 80yo father had a medical emergency while we were staying here and everyone came to his aid, was so helpful and got him the care he needed. I especially have to shine a spotlight on the following staff members:

Staff was extremely helpful . We arrived early, they held our luggage until our room was ready. Kuna suggested the hop on/off A1 line as a way to pass the time. It was perfect. Soon we received a notification the room was ready. Not only was the room ready the pullout was also prepared so we didn't need to rearrange the room before settling in. Room was spacious, clean an everyone was very friendly. Perfect location to experience Hamburg!

Rooms are ok. Shower head didn’t stay at set height and there were holes in the curtains. Bed was comfy though. Housekeeping was excessive had 4-5 people knock on the door each day to do separate items I.e. bed/towels/coffee/water bit excessive.
There was one chap on reception who was incredibly unhelpful and tbh very rude. He spoke in German to attempt to hide his behaviour but the body language and tone gave it away. Made us feel a bit uncomfortable whenever we needed to come in/out or needed anything.
Lastly, breakfast was very average and tbh over priced at €30 a day. Plenty of great coffee shops etc close by you can get better food/coffee for less money.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Renaissance Hamburg and it was great stay . The check in and out was seamless and the front desk staff were friendly and amazing . Room was comfortable and had nice touch of decor. The breakfast at Brick was great and I want to send huge thanks and appreciation to Dalida who was so attentive and super friendly.
The hotel's location was perfect, 7 mins walk to Europa passage shopping center and many other shops and restaurants. Also, it’s 5 mins walk to subway station.
Overall, my stay was exceptional. The combination of top-notch service, luxurious accommodations, and prime location made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay.

Beautiful hotel in a very centric location, close to neustadt and altstadt. Rooms are silent, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and the staff at breakfast were great. Special thanks to Fariz at the front desk, he was genuine, uplifting and helpful.

I was ill at ease at this Marriott property. The pictures need no explanation. Old, filthy and dirty. The beautiful pictures on the Bonvoy website are totally misleading. I left after 2 hours and finding an alternative for at least the first night.
Mildew everywhere, the upholstery in the room was filthy and shiny from dirt and oily skin. There is a bad smell everywhere, except in the lobby. The lobby is heavily treated with air freshener. This is certainly not a 4 or 5 star hotel, there are better 2 and 3 star hotels compared to this property.

Completely understaffed. Two (very nice) people at reception to service hundreds of arriving guests. Room not ready (also no chambermaids it seems) until 5pm (after several escalations). Never again!
