AMC Royal Hotel & Spa

Terrible hotel! I would never visit again! Deffo not 5 stars hotel! Terrible food most of the time look like leftovers, the staff look like they don’t wanna work and they are there by force! Absolutely unhelpful UNLESS you give a dollar! But you already paid! It is very dirty everywhere! The main restaurant, rooms, lobby bar, outside area. Even the glasses are not washed properly you can see how they just rinse it with water and that’s it! They you end up with stomach issues and stuff. The food once again is terrible! Not many people speaks English, the animation is also every day the same! Absolutely boring, then it is far away from the city so u don’t have much choice. Outside of the hotel is also super dirty there is constantly dust from the road and sewer leaking on the street. Whatever you do u will find someone screaming at you in Arabic language. The other day a small child nearly drowned in the pool and the life guard done nothing! They all stayed and watched their phones, good the mom saved her child as she jumped in the pool on her own! Then the lifeguard just bring them a cup of water and say sorry… probably they had to give him a dollar in advance! I would never ever visit this hotel and never been in a worse hotel in my life!

Check in was very late due to a delay with our transfer, the reception staff were very accommodating, although we were not given wrist bands and weren't really provided with a great deal of information. We'd booked as 2 couples on 1 booking and emailed and asked for rooms close together, on arrival we had been allocated rooms on totally opposite sides of the hotel. They did manage to change so we were closer after we asked. There was a small buffet selection available from the alacarte restaurant in reception, however after being sent there from reception the guy inside was very confused as we weren't on the list and then left us stood waiting to enter for around 10 minutes with very little explanation of the issue.
Rooms - the rooms are lovely, very spacious and the en suite has a bath which was nice. Cleaned to a high standard each day & towels (including pool towels) replaced daily if left out. Mahmood was our regular room cleaner and his service was exceptional. Very friendly and kind and flexible with our requirements. General condition and decoration was very good.

Animation/ entertainment - the animation team were lovely but there was 1 wake up / morning song, a stretching class & aqua aerobics a couple of songs/dances in the afternoon and that was pretty much it. Evening entertaining was fairly non existing and what was on wasn't great. Unless you want to pay to go out clubbing in Hurghada you were left to your own devices at night with very little to do.
Beach - beautiful beach and lovely jetty / pier you can get in around half way down and there were some fish you could swim around with, nothing too spectacular but something.
Hotel Bazar is OK although shops over priced and shop keepers and quite pushy even for Egypt! Pharmacy wanted to charge £15 for a small mix of cream for a Mosquito bite. The pharmacy at senzo mall charged $2 for the same thing.
Spa / Beauty Centre - Exceptional! Not too pushy, happy to haggle a little and very very good service offered at very reasonable prices. All welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for you!
Trips - Ali & Osama were lovely. Really helpful and very lovely guys. The trips were overpriced however and they weren't allowed to drop the prices to anything that became reasonable. Orange Bay was £15pp more expensive than Get your Guide for the same trip. For a group of 4 people that's £60 above the going rate so we unfortunately didn't end up using them which is a shame as they were really lovely guys.
Pools - a seperate child's pool but for very small children. Therefore bigger kids were using the main pool where the pool bar was, there was a rope to section off the shallower end but it was quite busy mainly with children in the deeper end as well. The cleanliness of the pool was very good and the lifeguards were all fantastic and did a great job trying to keep unattended children under control!! A man who appeared to be the boss of the lifeguards came over and appeared to be shouting at them on one day though, I found that unprofessional and all the lifeguards looked upset and sad afterwards. Considering they're about the only people who do a very good job consistently I didn't think this was appropriate and it wasn't nice to see them looking down. They were a million times more productive and interactive before he came over.
Waterpark - the actual hotel complex has 3 small slides more suited to children that adults although adults are allowed they're very tame. The hotel waterpark is across the road and is really good! Some decent quick slides and some more chilled ones. Toilets, shower a bar and sunbeds all over there. Defo worth a visit over. Shout out to 2 of the staff who were very welcoming and friendly and to all of the lifeguards.

It was very bad vacation. The staff of the hotel treating us very rude. They didn't respect guests. The chefs of the restaurant treating us so bad & they was rude with us except 2 or 3 chefs was kind but the rest gives us bad time & we was uncomfortable at all. The beach have rocks & if u don't have sea choice the rock will hurt your feet and it was so shallow. Only the pool was good & clean. Rooms was clean & the housekeeping was very good. The taste of the food was not tasty at all & as I said before the chefs reaction & attitude was not good. Also, there's one or two chefs don't accept criticism when we said to him we didn't like some type of food. Don't have variety in food & the recycle the food from the meal before. They just change the way of serving the food , they didn't change the type. I spend 4 days eating the same food only one night they tried to do a new type of food but also the taste actually was not good. Maybe the food looks like ohhh delusion but when we start eating it it tast very bad. The sweets was so bad & we told the chefs from the first day it doesn't taste good but they told us wait for the meal meal & come early & u will see that there will be good stuff. But we give it alot of chance that maybe the next meal will have more tasty sweets but as I said it may be looks good but the taste so bad to be honest there was only one type was not bad ( it was rice milk). Also the drinks was bad as the food. Snacks was better than food inside the restaurant. The hotel so small. There was shows at night & the most good thing in this hotel the violin guy he give us great time & the shows at night was good.
Really Really I don't recommend this hotel for any one maybe there is good stuff but the people how give u the service not professional. What matters in any hotel the people & stuff not the quality of food. Maybe other hotels serve not very good food but treat guests very good & have smell on there face this matters & change every thing. It was waste of time & money👎
