We’re avid travelers and over the years have stayed in a countless amount of properties across the Red Sea within various price segments. Thus, we can objectively conclude that Breakers is an overall decent but rather average & at times mediocre representative of its niche. We left with a multitude of mixed feelings about the stay, having experienced a blend of positive & borderline negative impressions. On the plus side: - chill & cozy boutique boho vibe - very responsive & courteous personnel - nice refreshing pool - tasteful room decor - although not adults only per se but mainly aimed at pure quiet relaxation without intrusive entertainment or kids facilities - enjoyed the cocktail party with a DJ On the downside: - occasional room hiccups of repeated nature (A/C & safe box fixes) - on 2 separate occasions discovered hairs in the food items (one being breakfast cinnamon roll & one at dinner) - during the BBQ night, saw a coach crawling by the salad station - prices versus quality of food or beverage items leaves much to be desired In a nutshell, it’s a decent hotel with its unique vibe & audience and very lovely staff as a cherry on top but certain hygiene related pitfalls unfortunately left an aftertaste, therefore we wouldn’t consider going back as there’s plenty bigger fish in the sea within the same price category.

The accommodation was spacious and very comfortable. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. If you enjoy snorkelling, this is the place to be!

As a passionate scuba diver i have traveled this region a lot. Breakers blew my mind. They live up to their motto: welcome home! Everything feels like family from the start. Very friendly and reliable staff, nice and clean rooms. Excellent food, big variety to choose from what I would describe as crossover or fusion Kirchen, asian, arabic european style. Together with a perfectly organized Orca Dive base this makes an unforgettable holiday.

my best part of the stay was the whole stay! loved the room, the staff, the suitable experience, i was there for a solo trip with some running, swimming, sauna and enjoying the cold water pool after. also hit the gym once or twice. loved that i could find everything i need close by. kite surfing center also close, the kitchen had lovely food with healthy varities. marina wasn't far. so nice and so convenient. thank you for the amazing stay

12 of us travelled to the Breakers in May to celebrate my 60th Birthday. Over the previous 9 months I had been in contact with Dagmar who couldn't have done more to ensure our stay and party was an unforgettable experience. From arranging room choices, menus, transfers, Luxor trips the list is endless. The hotel staff did the hotel proud and fully justified my choice of choosing The Breakers for this celebration and being hotel I was happy to bring my guests to. As ever the food, its presentation, service and attitude of staff reflected the passion they have to ensuring every guest has a memorable time, this is supported by the number of return guests. This passion reflects the enthusiasm and willingness by the management team to ensure all guests leave their holiday, with the next stay already booked. If I had one small request, it's that designated smoking tables are placed towards the front of the restaurant and those closer to the indoor seating area are declared non smoking. To Dagmar, Stefan, Yana, Khalid and all the Breakers staff many thanks for making my 60th such a wonderful occasion.

The resort is cute, small, and private. The staff knows the guests and is very nice. The cooking course is great; the chef Mohamed Nagah was very helpful and nice. The hygiene standards in the kitchen are very high and the food in general is very good. We enjoyed the oriental dinner and dinner on the beach.

Very clean and spacius rooms. The dinner and breakfast buffets have food with big variety and very good quality! On the reef for scuba diving and very close to the kite house 7bft. Pool and all the outside areas are perfectly maintained and all the staff are very polite and very willing to assist.

Soma Bay with its sheer endless string of luxury resorts and golf courses is a fortress of western commercial colonialism. The Breakers is no exception in that respect, however, the atmosphere is very laid back and the staff (give tips!) is very forthcoming and treats you like guests, not tourists. They call everyone “Habibi” and are very professional, considering that the guests pay more for a room in one night than they earn in a month. The hotel premises offer lots of activities and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the riches of life. Food and Diving at Orca Dive Club was great.

The service attitude is very bad, discrimination is very serious, the bed is very dirty, as if it has not been washed, and the clothes are smelly after sleeping on it

I'll come quickly to the points of criticism, there are only two in my view: firstly, the sea view. We booked this hotel specifically because of the view of the sea. Of course, nobody can guarantee that the pictures are exactly like the room itself, but we looked out of our balcony onto a large construction site and the view of the sea was really minimal, as there was also a large hotel wall in between. On site you can then book an upgrade for twelve euros per day per person, which would have been almost €250 for us and was therefore no longer possible. I would have liked this to be visible online... Other hotels often differentiate between a side sea view and a sea view. 
The second point was the high prices of drinks and a la carte food. A bottled beer for dinner, which costs €6. Or a meal for lunch for €15-20 is simply too expensive. The prices are in Egypt. Food in particular is very cheap in Egypt and I really don't understand why the price-performance ratio is worse than in the expensive big cities in Germany.
Otherwise, as described in many reviews: the food was good, the location is really great right on the reef and the people are fantastic and friendly. We had a great time and if we go to Hurghada again to go diving or kiting, this hotel will be our choice.
