The Cascades Golf Resort, Spa & Thalasso

Okay.
First things first, before checking in, we had lunch but never got our room keys until 3:40 PM, when asking for water from the bar they refused to serve us as we "didnt have a room number", which I believe is absurd. When finally given our keys, we went to the room; AC not working, floor was still wet, very bad smell of a mix of Smoke and detergents, only one bed in a double room (for me and my mom), water pressure was very low. But the view was good. We asked for a room change that took an hour till we could change, the other room was clearly much better than the first room. Food was average, I hated the salads, most were dry or old, other food and the variety was fine.
Reception seating area was not huge, some not properly air conditioned. Not much of afternoon or night activities. No direct sea access, taking a shuttle bus is required, which takes about 6 minutes, some of which were not air conditioned and others had broken seats. Most of the staff were showing their smiles and being nice.
When checking out they asked for an extra fare for drinks we didnt order from the bar, apparently another guest used our room number buying drinks that is worth 800 EGP, we got a refund after some time, and the reciptionist was not very good.
Views were fabulous all around the hotel. I have been to more than 20 resorts all around hurghada in the past 15 years. Unforfunately that would be the 2nd worst one I've stayed at.

The hotel staff are uncooperative.
Room service is very slow.
No water is available in the restaurant, and the staff there are extremely unhelpful and unprofessional.
It would be better if drinks were available in the restaurant like in other hotels.

Additionally, the hotel is far from the beach, which is disappointing despite the availability of shuttle buses.
The food is good, but the variety is very limited, and the restaurant is poorly organized.

Rooms are cosy, but a bit old. Second time for me and third time for some of my family members.

We had a power outage during our stay. So no shower cause bathroom was dark, no option to charge your phone, etc. While for some people that may not be an issue or they just charged their phones earlier, this impacted our stay. We were 5 people, booked independently.

As I brought the matter up, customer service didn't respond. As I escalated the issue, responses were unreflected, clumsy and almost offensive. Apparently, one can wave what happens on a business day without power with a cocktail in Egypt.

While operative customer service is not responsible, customer care is basically not present. So this is one hotel you want to avoid as they do not want to talk about issues and only do their 80/20 mediocre buffet.

It was a good time till it ended with a big thing, STOLLEN JEWELRY. That costs a huge amount of money. And the hotel management were not that much helping. Telling will keep u updated. Which was so weird as a reaction for such an accident. Asked to check the security cameras but always a ridiculous behavior. I guess they knew who did it and never wanted to mention who and our JEWELRY never showed up again.
Even police made us signed paper that we found it just to let us and all the group go home.
Security there is not as we were hoping.
Even the idea of compensation was never mentioned from their side.
So bad
And we still want our stuffs back.
