Hilton Madrid Airport

This is a good hotel if you have, for example, three single people heading out on spring break. This is a bad hotel if you are a family of 4. Parents with kids, no matter how small, are forced to get a second room as they have a very strict policy of not allowing occupancy of more than 3 people. It appears they renovated the rooms to expand the size of the bathrooms and make the living area smaller which does not allow for double or queen size beds. Instead, they have rooms with 1 king bed or rooms with 3 single beds. For an airport hotel not to be able to accommodate a typical family seems very strange. But if you are spring breakers, you found the place.

I was upgraded to a King relaxation room for being a diamond member. Front desk provided no information about the executive lounge. I was not on the executive floor either. The room was not relaxing in any way. The jacuzzi was disgusting, it grossed me out. It had a lot of grime on the jets and on the top sides where you would put your hands. Not the Hilton clean standard. The view was not good as well. They offered me late checkout which was very nice. I had checked in at 3am after a delayed flight and having to take a taxi to the hotel. Their shuttle has fixed hours. And no availability for a shuttle in such a case with the delayed flights. Like some hotels have shuttles that can be requested in cases like that. There was a shuttle available the next day at 2pm. The reason for my stay there was for the convenience of location and shuttle to and from airport. Breakfast had good fruit selection, I’m vegetarian had the hashbrowns they were barely warm and stale. Service overall with the management I would give zero, I’m still in contact with them about my stay that I had to cancel due to my canceled flight. Front desk failed to mention that I would be charged the nights rate, for cancellation. Since I had booked the stay with my points. Their communication would get 1 star. So beware of this and learn from my situation. If you are using points, there is no flexibility in their policy or any exceptions they have been willing to make so far. I was excited for the upgraded relaxation room for my second reservation with them but it was very disappointing. I didn’t feel valued as a diamond member at all. I had stayed at Canopy Hilton at Madrid, they provided elite service and superb staff and amenities. Very clean and breakfast was the best I had during my stay all over Europe. I will 100% not stay here again and will go the extra mile to stay at the canopy Hilton where I felt appreciated, welcomed and was accommodated very well.
