We recently spent 9 nights at Porto Greco Village Beach Hotel in Hersonissos, Crete, and overall, we were happy with our stay. The hotel has a lot to offer, especially with its stunning beachfront location and friendly staff, but there are a few areas that could use some improvement.
The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean, but the air conditioning unit was a bit of a letdown. It was quite loud, especially in the middle of the night, to the point where the noise was almost like a broken machine. This definitely impacted our sleep quality and is something the hotel should address.
On the positive side, the food at the hotel was quite good for an all-inclusive experience. There was a decent variety of dishes, and the quality was consistent. However, we felt that the dining area could benefit from more seating and a wider selection of food options, especially during peak meal times when it tended to get a bit crowded.
Despite these issues, our overall experience was enjoyable. The location is fantastic, right by the beach, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings, which made for a very pleasant holiday.

My stay at Porto Greco Village Beach Hotel was, unfortunately, a disappointment. From the moment we checked in, it became clear that the experience would not match the expectations set by the booking site.
Firstly, the rooms were not as described. They were old and lacked the modern touches we anticipated. The bed was uncomfortably hard, and to make matters worse, our room was only cleaned once during our 7-day stay. We also only received fresh towels twice, which was far from sufficient.
The food at the hotel was another letdown. The meals were mostly cold or lukewarm at best, and the variety was limited. However, one positive aspect was that the hotel did offer a different menu each day, even if the options were minimal.
The service at King Scorpio Bar, which was included in the all-inclusive package, was also disappointing. The staff were unfriendly when we ordered a few drinks, which was surprising and off-putting.
Lastly, the Streetfood Corner was supposed to offer snacks between lunch and dinner, but for three days in a row, the pita gyros chicken was served undercooked. The meat was so pink it was raw.
Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend Porto Greco Village Beach Hotel based on this stay.

I spent 10 days here with my wife and 2 kids. It's not a hotel tuned specifically for kids but it is family friendly, good aircon, great food, great service. Really nice and thoughtful team.
They even brought a birthday cake to our room for my son who turned 7 during our stay. We did not ask for this they just figured it out and did it.
I highly recommend this hotel. Plenty of nice places around it too. The restaurants and bars that for part of the resort are very good too. I would definitely stay again.

For this year's vacation, I chose the Porto Greco hotel. I would have both positive and negative things to say. I'll start with the negative ones, to end on a positive note.
As for the beach, from my side it is a 9/10, the sand is very fine, the water extremely clear and of a blue that is hard to describe, the beach is clean, the staff is very friendly and always available. Only one disadvantage: it is small, it does not have much space at its disposal .
Regarding the location of the hotel, it is more than suitable, you reach the beach in just 5 minutes.
Many bars to choose from to enjoy your meal or drink.
And that was about the good parts. Starting with the bad parts, the first thing I was disappointed with was the bedroom, I'll give it a 6/10. Especially the bathroom, very small and narrow.
A second thing that seemed to me a disadvantage was the "kindness" of the waiters. It happened to both me and my family that the plate in front of us was taken far too quickly. Many times, we don't get to put the fork down because the plate was already lifted from the table.
It gave the feeling that they wanted us to leave the table as quickly as possible.
This was one of the biggest downsides of the hotel that made me give it only 3 stars.
We didn't even get to sit at the pool. It was always full. I don't know from what time the others went there because if you wanted to go after breakfast, you couldn't find any places available.
A minus of the beach, it seemed to me the price of the sunbeds. €25 a deck chair, and €100 a bed for 2 people, a bit exaggerated.
As for the food, I'll give it a 7/10, there were good and bad dishes. The breakfast was not so diversified, and at the other meals, I expected there to be more types of seafood or fish, but no, it was only the "fish of the day", only one day I had a few more diversified dishes in terms of fruits of sea .

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, very friendly staff and atmosphere of the hotel and helpful. The food was good and good choice.
Perfect location, only down point is the gym isn't great ...so if your someone that likes to workout is very very basic gym with next to nothing. But I opted for walking and enjoying the sun as didn't want to be shut in a basement gym.
Would definitely stay here again

- The wifi did not work in the rooms. The food was not good. Not easy finding sunbed at hotel. Everything closed: animationteam and kidsclub. expensive with sunbeds at sea.

Great hotel! We arrived late in the evening, upon arrival at the hotel we were fed and settled very quickly. We traveled in 2 couples, asked for rooms next to each other and got them. Room (Suite): two-room spacious comfortable. For two, it's perfect. This room would be comfortable and 4m. In the room: 2 rooms, 2 TVs, 2 air conditioners, good shower, toilet, 2 balconies, refrigerator, iron, 2 wardrobes. Clean linen and towels. Cleaning every day. Change of towels every other day. The bed was changed every 3 days. The second couple had the same room, mirrored, balconies nearby, it was convenient to be around all the time :) Meals: a large selection, a variety of dishes. There are dishes for vegetarians, dietary dishes, meat, fish, salads, various side dishes, many desserts, fresh pastries, ice cream. Bar: a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, juices, water, beer, wine, cocktails, spirits, coffee, tea. The restaurant is located near the sea, very nice. Beach: the closest one near the hotel, 50 meters. Clean, sandy. The beach is free. Paid sunbeds and umbrellas. There are many beaches along the promenade, all are good, you don’t need to go far or go. Service: very friendly and helpful staff. They work quickly and efficiently, smiling, positive. Very good impression. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The island and the city itself are incredibly beautiful. It's like in a fairy tale. We give this hotel a solid 10, because we really liked it here and we will be happy to come here again.

We rested from June 13 to June 20, 2021. Tourists from Kyiv, a child of 3 years and 2 adults. Price with quality. The holiday was a success, we will advertise to friends. The hotel is located on the beach, on the other side of the mountain. Beautiful views and fresh sea breeze. Two-room suite with a huge balcony overlooking the sea. Bed linen and towels are spotlessly clean, towels are changed daily. The food is varied and delicious. The bar has a large selection of local alcohol, cocktails, beer. The staff is friendly and good-natured, not intrusive. There is no animation, this is a plus for us. The pools are small, but we like to relax on the beach, so it does not matter. I recommend taking a mask for swimming, a snorkel, for fishing enthusiasts - a fishing rod. In Greece, you do not need a license to fish. There are many different types of crabs in the sea, we saw a small moray eel and an octopus near the rocks. There are also mosquitoes, take protection from them) Panic, sunscreen and enjoy the impeccably clear sea and views of Crete. Have a nice holiday, we hope to see you again soon!
