A disaster of a hotel
The bath tub leaks, after showering, the bathroom is full of water.
Forget about the internet in the room because there is none.
The pictures that exist are not real.
The bedspread on the double bed is short, so as soon as you lie down it pulls back and you sleep on a dirty mattress.

TLDR: Cramped parking, rude and potentially scamming reception, cramped and hot rooms, mouldy, wet, and leaky bathrooms, 0/100 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Parking is extremely difficult if not nearly impossible as the hotel is situated in a tight one way street, we had to go to the front desk of a separate hotel to ask for the barrier to their parking to be opened as apparently the hotel shares its parking with the hotel across the street.

Reception was awful, the woman at the counter accused us of paying with a card that didn't work even though we had already booked beforehand and forced us to pay again for rooms we already had booked. Not only did she force us to pay again, but she was extremely rude and kept shouting over us and telling us to not start arguments even though we were quiet and respectful the entire time.

Room itself was small, cramped, with a view of the backs of blocks and houses. The air conditioning in the room did not work so it was boiling. The bathroom had a mouldy ceiling, the shower leaked all the time, and the water went everywhere, making the entire bathroom wet.

Overall a terrible experience, got out as fast as we could the next day and don't ever plan to return. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This hotel is absolutely terrible. The reception staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. The rooms are dirty, the sheets and pillows are filthy and never changed, and there are even insects in the room. It’s clear that cleanliness is not a priority here. If I could give zero stars, I would. I strongly advise against staying here

There was almost no one at the reception desk during all the days I stayed there, the bathroom had a broken drain, the bed had uncomfortable mattresses, the room had a strong cigarette smell. The worst thing was that I wanted to buy my breakfast on site, having this possibility according to the “trip.com” application. The restaurant was closed and the manager, when I asked him, said that he had no responsibility in this regard. In addition, no one answers the emergency phone number displayed on all the windows of the hotel. I will not return there!

Fawlty Towers in Sofia - but where was John Cleese?

We was living 5 days at hotel Aris in Sofia. To make it short it was the most terrible hotel I ever stayed in.

The rooms was not clean. Dust and what was worse at the rooms. The never cleaned the rooms during the stay.

The breakfast was at best moderate going against bad.

But the worst thing about the hotel was the staff. I never experienced any thing like it. Service is definitely not a city in Bulgaria. At some time I was wondering if we were in a reality show like “the worst hotel in Sofia”. The receptionist in different looking constant at her phone or smoking, cleaner more focused on getting off, smoking and taking Tod here two small children that were with her on the job. The waitress in the weekend having loud conversations on her phone in the restaurant and when not seeing reels on her phone.

So all in all a sad experience at the hotel that really doesn’t want you to come back.

And yes I know the price is low but still you should expect a clean room and again cleaning during a 5 day stay and a staff that doesn’t ignore you.
