We loved staying here for our first trip to Sofia. The staff are so welcoming right from arrival all the way through to check out. They really can’t do enough for you. The hotel itself is beautiful in a classic and dignified way. The location is perfect, right in the centre with everything in the city centre within walking distance. The view from our top floor balcony at sunrise was an added bonus. What a gem.

Unfortunately, my grandad was taken very ill a day before our stay and so we could not make our trip to Sofia. I requested to move our dates and was of course willing to pay extra. Despite there being plenty of availability (we checked several sites and there were rooms available), the hotel declined our request without any explanation. I then requested a waive of the cancellation fee, as they were clearly unwilling to assist us, and was met with a very blunt no, and zero compassion, despite explaining the situation (which they did not even acknowledge). I appreciate our booking was non-refundable so I was not looking for a refund, but emergencies happen and a little bit of kindness, even to acknowledge our situation, would have gone a long way. A strong suggestion that you should work on the way you communicate to people.

This hotel has a lot going for it. Large rooms, fantastic amenities, polite staff, and convenient location are just a few. The rooms are ornate and well appointed. The downstairs lobby is beautiful. Service by everyone on the grounds was quick and very professional. This was my first trip to Sofia and I will definitely stay here on my future visits.

A very well-located and comfortable hotel with a vaguely retro and kitschy style. BUT: the bar and room service stop at 11 PM! If you arrive late, not even a sandwich or soup is available, and the only drinks are from the minibar! The staff is grumpy and sulky (except for one night doorman and one housekeeper), making it impossible to get a smile from them. They act as if you are bothering them. Upon arrival, there was only one soap in the bathroom (there were two of us) and two hangers in the closet... If you expect 5-star treatment, forget it. For the price of the stay, breakfast should be included.

The hotel is just perfect. Starting with location - walking distance to every kind of bar, restaurant or grocery store, walking distance to many places of interest.
Professional and nice staff, very clean and spacious rooms. The breakfast was great also.
And as the top - complimentary birthday cake and wine.

The hotel is located at the right city center. Walking distance to most tourist attractions, shops and restaurants.

Had 3 nights here and upgraded to the terrace room with mountain view which was the best choice of the trip. Such a lovely view to fall asleep and wake up to. The service was fantastic and the toiletries were all The White Company (which my wife tells me is a good brand 🤷). Didn't eat in the restaurant but did use the spa which includes sauna, steam room and there's a gym too. Would stay here again.
