Tsokkos Gardens Hotel

Not even a 3 star hotel (and they charge for a 4 star hotel). Where do I begin! If anyone (a manager or something... if you even employ such a person) is reading this, at least, please do something with the towels. They - to put it politely - stink! Here's an idea! USE DETERGENT! You know what? Just because God blessed you with a sea that we all want to enjoy, doesn't mean we will tolerate such facilities and re-visit! Once is enough! Some of your visitors, you'll never see again. We, obviously, can't count on you, but YOU, most definitely, can count on THAT!

Don’t think bed sheets got changed once in the week we was hear lovely lady on reception was an absolute pleasure to meet so helpful pools are average. food was hit and miss stick to what you know or you will be sat on the toilet a few days wouldn’t return

Currently staying in this hotel from hell, stayed here last year was very happy that’s why we chosen to come back here, things have definitely gone down hill since last year, the food is shocking the rooms are so dirty I seen someone checking out from the room over from us they didn’t even change the bedding before next visitors arrived kids running around screen at 3 am each night so called cleaning team wake you up at 8 am dragging furniture around the rooms next to you they walk in your room without knocking they don’t do anything apart from change towels to make it look like they done something was really happy staying here last year this year would definitely advise staying somewhere else unless you like waking up full of bites from in the room at night beds so uncomfortable and family rooms are very small no privacy from your teenage children 10 days of hell no sleep horrible food only good things can say is staff are friendly

So me and my husband and our 1 year old stayed here for 9 nights from the 6 July - 15th July and honestly it was one of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. I’ve come to Cyprus many times before and it was my favorite holiday destination as I’ve always found the people there was so lovely but this hotel didn’t live up to my standards. Starting off with the food- really and truly it was disgusting! Breakfast lunch and dinner was all the same, the meat was all fat or bone, the quality of the food was terrible and the taste just as bad. My 1 year old survived of chips until we found the local pub which was amazing by the way. The older woman working at the pool bar was miserable every day and on our last day told us we wasn’t allowed to use our all inclusive there anymore because we was leaving at 7pm that day! Although we actually missed our whole first day of all inclusive. The alcoholic drinks were terrible, you have to pay €6 for an actual cocktail which still weren’t that nice and the drinks you get included are their own brand alcohol with a bit of syrup in them. honestly I’ve never seen anything like it. On our 3/4 day we was sitting in reception waiting for our cab and the ceiling COLLAPSED about a meter away from my young son who was running around. On our second day at lunch my husband asked one of the staff for a drink and they completely ignored him, when he asked again the man then replied with “go and ask someone else” which is weird as it is his job. We didn’t get a sun bed not once whilst there as there just isn’t enough. Entertainment was just a woman singing most nights. I’m so disappointed in our stay and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here.

I booked this expecting a 4* experience. I arrived at 1am to be met by Howard who told me in no uncertain terms that the WiFi wasn’t great (I was planning to work from this hotel on a bit of a holiday/work trip) and that it was €20 for a 7 day pass. Bit old fashioned but okay.. I’d had a great deal at booking so wasn’t the end of the world. A very nice man took my suitcase up for me.

It was 1am and dark so I went straight to bed- no pillowcases?? But hey, things are always better when you’ve had some sleep and breakfast.

Breakfast was average at best. The staff did their job but nothing more, and the lads working breakfast didn’t do much to make a solo female traveller feel comfortable. At 4*, I expected to at least see the chef and doing the eggs etc- nothing.

Pool is stunning. 15min flat walk to the beach. Plenty of shops for inflatables and coffee etc. Water park next door which you can use for free which looked AWESOME. 6 year old me would have been there everyday!

My room had no hot water when I returned to my room, and the water pressure wasn’t great- see video below. It also wasn’t the cleanest- sink had black bits coming out the tap, and paint on the table and floor.

Maintenance came to fix my shower, and I was told “tomorrow, tomorrow”. It wasn’t warm or fixed.

I attempted one teams meeting on the WiFi and no dice so had decided that I would be leaving tomorrow.

I went to bed- and mini disco started. Now I love baby shark as much as the next person, and it’s worth mentioning that the animation team have the patience of saints, and need to be rewarded massively. But at 10pm when you can still hear the thumping bass after 2 brandy sours- is not okay.

I informed reception of all of my problems at 2220 and then contacted my tour operator- I was offered another room in another resort. The reviews for these speak for themselves-and I was done. I was told to wait until the head of reception arrived at 10am the next day to complain and request a refund.

At 10am the next morning I spoke to the head of reception who was mortified, and tried everything to make me stay. She explained that they were unable to refund me as my tour operator had my money. I have contacted them and a refund investigation is ongoing.

In summary- if you have young children who eat chicken nuggets, chips, buttery pasta and want ice-cream and pop in the sunshine with an amazing pool and waterpark for a great price come here, you’ll get a bargain- just maybe bring towels and bedsheets if you’re a bit of a cleanliness enthusiast. If you’re a couple, solo travelling, child-free. AVOID.
