Reviews
The resort definitely looks a bit tired in places.
However the variety of food was extensive and plentiful.
There are a number of options for eating and drinking however the glasses used for a beer are very small, no draught beer available all bottled and often tastes a bit flat.
Local spirits are mediocre and the wine isn’t great.
The pools and gardens are lovely, it’s great you can access the hotel across the road too.
Our room was cleaned daily but the sheets and towels were pretty washed out.
No gowns in wardrobe either.
We had spent 2 weeks in Sharm prior to this and had far better value for money in our previous hotel.
All staff were helpful and friendly.
WiFi access was complimentary and fairly good.
What bothered me the most was the experience at the beach. One of the beach employees was extremely intrusive, to the point of trying to almost pull the bag out of my hands and insisting on setting up sunbeds, clearly expecting a tip. This kind of behavior is uncomfortable, inappropriate, and negatively affects the otherwise good impression of the hotel. Guests should be able to arrange their sunbeds themselves without feeling pressured or uncomfortable.
I hope the hotel management will take this as constructive feedback and address the issue, as the hotel has a lot of potential and many positive aspects.
Food and Dining Experience
The food at the Grand Resort Hotel is one of the weakest aspects. Meals lack quality, freshness, and variety. The dishes are poorly prepared, often cold, and seem to be made with cheap ingredients. The dining area itself is unappealing, with little attention paid to cleanliness or presentation. For a hotel that claims to provide a resort-level experience, the culinary offerings are far below acceptable standards.
Service Quality
Service at the Grand Resort Hotel is consistently poor. Staff members are inattentive, unprofessional, and in many cases, outright rude. Requests for assistance—whether for housekeeping, room service, or simple directions—are often ignored or delayed without explanation. Guests are made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
Staff Attitude and Professionalism
The staff’s attitude reflects a lack of training and customer care. Instead of being welcoming and helpful, staff members are dismissive and unapproachable. Their unwillingness to assist guests creates an uncomfortable and hostile environment. Professionalism is almost non-existent, and this negatively affects every aspect of the hotel stay.
Facilities and Cleanliness
The hotel facilities are poorly maintained. Common areas feel neglected, and rooms do not meet basic standards of cleanliness or comfort. Broken fixtures, unclean bathrooms, and worn-out furniture are common issues. This gives the impression that the hotel management does not prioritize guest satisfaction or reinvest in maintaining the property.
Overall Experience
The Grand Resort Hotel markets itself as a premium establishment, but in reality, it delivers a substandard experience across the board. Poor food, bad service, unprofessional staff, and neglected facilities combine to create one of the worst hotel experiences imaginable.
Conclusion
The beach was nice, though tour sellers can be a bit persistent. However, a polite and clear “no” is enough—they don’t push further.
One small downside was the buffet drink machines—some drinks (like cola) had an odd taste and smell, probably due to the water used. Because of this, we preferred bottled drinks from the à la carte bars or opted for hot beverages.
Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing and the dinners were enjoyable. The hotel left us with lovely memories, and we would recommend it to others.
There is no parking. The hotel is old and I wouldn't call it very clean. We asked for extra pillows and we got a yellow one. The kettle had mold inside it and the towels had brown patches (check pics). Lunch and dinner were MISERABLE, with very limited and tasteless choices, it always seemed like leftovers revisited. Our room and corridor smelled funny. The hotel deserves 4 stars at its best, not a 5 star hotel at all. Even the elevators were rigged. Will never come back and I don't recommend it to anyone.
