Reviews
This hotel supposed to be 5 star but the quality is like 3 European star hotel. It’s supposed to be all inclusive but you have to pay for fresh juice(the guy who sells the juice is harassing all the guest all day long). If you fancy ice cream or popcorn get €4 ready. Also some parties are free but you have to pay for drinks. They run out of ice or snacks on daily basis. Many staff don’t speak English. Those who do will want to scam you and get you booked on overpriced excursions, photoshoots, massages etc. etc.
Food is horrible. Very small selection of dishes. The same food everyday. Fruits very limited, musty cakes. They take your plates as soon as you stop chewing.
Hotel is outdated, needs a proper refurbishment. Towels have holes, rooms are dusty.
Pools need to be cleaned as there is vegetation on the bottom between tiles.
At the kiosk in the main reception, the prices vary depending on the day and who serves you.
Everyone wants to sell you something, there is no genuine kindness. I don’t mind tip those who provide a service but not everyone just for doing their job. We felt like we were just walking wallets.
Entertainment was mediocre and no real effort was made to make it interesting.
You can go to the beach by shuttle bus which runs every half hour. It is only 10 mins drive. Remember to take the towel from the hotel with you. You are entitled to 2 water bottles per day. Our freezer wasn’t working properly- needed defrosting.
I would not recommend.
Bar man, George and the life guards you will always have a special place in our heart
The hotel doesn’t have direct beach access, and you need to take a shuttle bus to the beach. The driver waits for 20 minutes until the bus is full because he’s too lazy to make multiple trips, even though it’s just a 5-minute drive. He forces passengers to squeeze into three spots, crammed without air… He lets people board with open strollers into this small bus, even when there’s no space for people, let alone big strollers.
In the restaurant, there is a children's section with small chairs and tables, but only one high chair for babies and younger kids who want to sit at the table with their parents, which is, of course, always taken because the restaurant is always full. The hotel needs renovation, and their citizens are always allowed to skip the line and are served first, even though we’re all waiting in line.
Honestly, it’s not worth the money, nor the 5 stars it claims to have.
Now what I didn't like mainly was how they favoured the foreign guests over Egyptians. Most waiters were hovering over them seeing their needs. I had to help myself out usually and when I needed their assistance, it was late. I hated that their menu was almost set. Either for breakfast, dinner or lunch. The drinks weren't the best. I believe, they don't like to add much milk to their drinks and I have to regularly ask for extra. The animation was really not that good. They usually have a half an hour show and not daily. Felt like their activity was limited unlike other hotels I have been to.
All in all,it was a good experience, yet I think I might try a different hotel next time.
The pools, greenery around - beautiful.
Food - good, but quite monotonous. Everyday you could try something else, so no complains here.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
We were located in the bungalows, so most likely this part of the resort has not been renovated. The rooms were dirty, some parts have not been cleaned for years. AC was loud.
And the worst thing - cockroaches, big as your palm. They were everywhere. After dusk you could even see them crawling on the walls of the bungalows, hundreds of them. The only day/night they disappeared it was a time when a loud music was played at the resort -> TRAUMATIC experience.
I am actually surprised, that the other reviews say nothing about the bugs.
I also know where the Pharaoh's Revenge comes from - the glasses, plates are washed under running water only, no dish soap has been used. The waiters when grabbing the glasses ( plastic glasses!) they were putting their fingers inside it. It was horrible to watch. Lack of a minimum hygiene.
No need to kiss the other tourists, you will exchange the saliva from unwashed glasses.
No internet connection in the rooms. Poor connection only around lobby/reception desk.
It is rated 5* but I would rate maybe 3* by the European standard. Decent breakfast, usually egg omelettes, beans, pancakes, salad buffet and loads of pastries and type of bread.
Lunch usually choice of chicken and fish and some kind of grilled meat. Good salad buffet, plenty of bread and lovely choice of deserts.
Dinner about the same as lunch with choice of Balaclavas.
You can also book at other restaurants for a surcharge.
Wine is rubbish but for a good bottle of wine is about 10 dollars so not too bad.
Go to the swimming pool early and grab the loungers. There is a private beach, bus is running every15 mins, well organized.
You can book snorkeling and other trips at the hotel, decent prices, don't forget to haggle or ask around. They will try to get more money from you.
