Elba Madrid Alcala

This was my least favorite hotel during my stay in Spain.

1. The staff: the front desk staff was nice enough. But they do need a uniform update the Bib shirts look very odd/costume like/childish.

The breakfast staff need customer service training. In one instance I was walking out with some remaining water in a bottle (to take my medication later on), and the staff (the one with a nose ring) said that I can not take the water.

This was extremely inappropriate as spain at that time was experiencing a drought and we all know that the water was just going to be poured down the drain. So rather a guest drinking the water, they want to be wasteful. Very inappropriate.

2. The rooms: The room and bathroom was quite spacious, fairly clean. However, the towels were grey and with holes. They should be replaced as I wouldn't even donate them to an animal shelter. Also, the hotel must have had a flood as the wallpaper was bubbling and ceiling has stains. The combination provided was useful but no conditioner. Also, no washroom ventilation.

3. The breakfast was okay but the quality was lacking. Everything seemed rushed. And there was even a spider web on the fruit (clearly unwashed).

4. Location: fairly far from the core, a bit of a walk to the metro, and the local area is not the best- run down with questionable characters.

Overall, this is not a 4 star hotel. It should be downgraded.

We had a booking there from August 20-23. The AC doesn't seem to be working well. We loved the breakfast buffet though!

Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Theft and Management Incompetence

If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. My stay here was an absolute disaster. My valuable makeup items were stolen right out of my room by the housekeeping staff. These weren't just replaceable drugstore items; they were high-end products, small enough to be easily taken without immediate notice but worth a significant amount of money.

When I reported this to the hotel management, I was met with utter indifference. The manager didn't lift a finger to resolve the situation. No apology, no compensation, no attempt to make things right. It's as if they couldn't care less about their guests' security or satisfaction.

This level of negligence and disregard for guest property is beyond unacceptable, especially for a hotel that touts itself as a four-star establishment. It makes me question their standards and integrity altogether.

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. There are plenty of other hotels that will actually care about your experience and ensure your belongings are safe. This one certainly doesn't. My advice: avoid this hotel like the plague.
