Gran Versalles

The staff were professional and spoke fluent English. The room was spotless and daily cleaning was thorough. The bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows. There are numerous electrical sockets available, including one at the desk if you want to charge your laptop while using it. A hotel safe is available for storage of your valuables, and is easy to operate. The windows let in plenty of sunshine during the day, and the curtains block sunlight satisfactorily if you want privacy or some rest. Wonderful location in a safe neighborhood with quick access to the metro system, as the Alonso Martínez metro station (lines 4, 5, 10) is just around the corner and the Bilbao station (lines 1, 4) is about 400 m away, yet the price is a steal compared to other four star hotels in Madrid. Considering the prime location, the room was reasonably spacious.
However, the sound insulation isn't the best. Hot water took quite a bit of time to heat up, maybe a minute or two. The shower is not completely enclosed, so water may leak out to the bathroom floor outside. Air conditioning is not adjustable. Access to the elevator on the ground floor requires climbing a few stairs first, which may not be convenient for people with heavier luggage. Toiletries including razors and shaving cream are provided, but not replenished.
In all, it is excellent value for the price, well recommended for solo travelers staying in Madrid.

I love this hotel and have stayed here three different occasions while my daughter studied abroad. Rooms and clean, decent sized, beds comfortable, common spaces in lobby if you are a group. I have not tried the breakfast. It is easy to get anywhere from this location. The metro is just around the corner. Because of one way streets cabs can have trouble finding. I don’t know why. Coffee stand at the entrance to the metro has a large americano :).

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, although it didn't quite meet my expectations for a four-star rating. Here's a breakdown of my experience:

Pros:
- Convenient location near the metro and city center.
- The breakfast was delightful, featuring fresh fruit, croissants, and more.
- The hotel was pleasantly uncrowded around 9 o'clock.
- Both the room and the hotel were impeccably clean and had a fresh scent.

Cons:
- Despite booking for two, my girlfriend and I were assigned a twin bedroom instead of a double, which was disappointing.
- There was considerable noise in the morning, starting around 8 o'clock, due to cleaning and maintenance activities, making it difficult to sleep in.
- External noise persisted until late at night, as the windows and insulation were insufficient to block it out effectively.

+ An excellent location; everywhere is easily walkable from the hotel. Excellent rooms, very clean, spacious and quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable and everything is very new. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Our 5 night stay was excellent from check-in to check-out. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, even let us check in a little earlier than 13.00 given time. Room was spotless and spacious, WiFi was fast and the mini bar well stocked. Breakfast buffet was great value, selection of hot and cold meats, variety of breads and more fruit than you could shake a stick at plus yogurts, something for everyone. Breakfast area was busy but well managed and clean. We slept well in the comfortable bed and rarely heard any noise from outside or any other guests. It is a good mix of Business folk and weekend breakers. Location for the city is perfect, we walked a lot but there is a Metro station within 50 metres. I recommend the Madrid City Tour open top bus, get a good sense of where everything of note is. I do advise to walk though as the buses cant get that close to Plaza Mayor or the Square with Carlos III statue, both are musts do's. Hope this helps!

The location of the hotel is perfect, it's like 50 meters from the Alonso Martinez metro stop and 300/400 from Bilbao, so you can jump on the train and get into the city downtown in, like, ten minutes. Breakfast is good, lots of things you can eat, the staff is really kind and the cleanliness of the rooms is excellent. For this price, you can't ask better options than these! My parents and my brother went to this hotel before I did, and they both highly recommended it. Now I also highly recommend it to you.

The room was beautiful, even though we had booked a room with a double bed, and instead we found two - for goodness sake, comfortable - single beds pushed together. We didn't ask to change the room because we had already received a message from Booking that told us we could ask for a double bed but it wasn't sure it would have been given to us, it all depended from the availability of it. So this isn't the hotel's fault, but finding the two single beds pushed together was a little disappointing upon entering the room. Also, we were at the first floor and unfortunately the room was a bit noisy, you could hear the cars passing by at night. Just writing this here so that management can fix this detail and make the guests' staying in Madrid more comfortable.

Nice hotel, very clean, we had our room cleaned every day, close to the city center and at a good price.

Some negative aspects:
-the interior design of the room could have been a little bit more modern
-unluckily we had the room exactly in front of the elevator and we could hear at night every person who passed and talked near our door
-the fridge was very strange and a little complicated to open
-we would have expected at least some coffee or tea with an electric kettle in the room as other 4stars hotel use to give to guets

This was a nice hotel conveniently situated just a few steps away from a Metro station on two lines. Efficient service. Pleasant room with minibar, but no tea and coffee facilities. Good breakfast
