Holiday Beach Budapest Wellness & Conference Hotel, the only boat-shaped hotel in the capital, is situated right on the river bank of the Danube, in a peaceful, green environment, as one of the most beautifully located hotels in Budapest.
It serves the comfort of our guests with 48 exclusively furnished rooms, 3 apartments, and a closed parking lot monitored by cameras. Rooms are with view of the Danube and the wooded riverbank across the river, or the Buda hills.
All rooms are air-conditioned in the summer, allergy-free, and non-smoking.
In the summer season (frombeginning of June to the end of August) the Hotel offers relaxation in it's outdoor pool, adventure pool, paddle pool and a sandy sports field located in it's park of over one hectare.
The guests may work out at the fully equipped cardio, fitness and aerobic room, or relax in the Finnish, bio- and infra saunas, in the steam bath or in the aromatherapy salt room at the sauna world, where they will also find 2 hot tubs for 8 people each.
The beauticians and masseurs at our beauty-farm use top international beauty products to get you in the best shape. Advance booking is required.
Bicycles may be rented at the fitness reception desk.
Six conference rooms of different sizes are available for business and scientific conferences, trainings, seminars, or other courses, as well as for banquets or major family events.
In addition, there are 2 restaurants, a grill terrace and a poolside bar at the hotel. Taste the specialties of Hungarian and international gastronomy, and enjoy the tastes of health food at the elegant Nebro restaurant and at the open grill-terrace. Daily buffet breakfast is served for our guests.
The city centre is easily reached by community transport. The nearest bus station is only a 5-minute walk. Transfer and taxi can be called at the hotel reception.
The ‘EuroVelo 6’ bicycle route leads on the riverbank, right in front of the hotel.

Dirty linen is a very bad first impression…
The men at the reception and the man in the restaurant where friendly, but the cleaning personnel simply walked in while i just wanted to wash myself.... they looked surprised, said they thought it was empty, and left.... no apologies or whatever.... kind of rude i say....
The rooms are outdated, but manageable if you HAVE to.... for us this was an emergency because our beloved camper broke that day, but to stay here for fun or holiday??? No way.... we had a "family room" for 3 persons (we had our son with us) which was officially a 2 person room which you could see of the location of the 3 beds! They were shifted so you can't reach the wall outlets in the headboard so actually didn't fit because of this....
The rooms are for 2 person already very small and for sure NOT 4 star luxury! Can you imagine how it is with a 3rd full size bed in it??? Exactly.... you can't turn your ass in it!!! The tap and the funnel in the bathroom were leaking that much that if you don't cover the floor it would flush it all over the floor so we used our used towels which were already not the cleanest ones! Same wit the bedsheets which showed spots i can't identify. The TV showed only some Hungarian channels and the rest was German??? Austrian channels everywhere.... is this "free terrestial signal reception?" They can't afford a royal mix of international channels???? With a four star price????
So.... the biggest part of the channels were only viewable for me, because i do speak/understand German.... but the rest of the family not.
Due to the season the pools were closed which i can imagine in November. The gym was open and my little boy had fun with it but it wasn't clean at all. By the fact we only stayed 1 night so i couldn't try out the sauna.... but i am questioning if i should have tried it, seen the not so cleanly experience overall... second; this sauna is only used when dressed in swimmingclothes which is disgusting! A sauna you do naked!!!
We went to an external restaurant to have dinner, so i can't judge the food, but the breakfast.... was not so great... at least not 4-star worthy! Eatable... but that's about it. So.... it actually was a great idea to go somewhere else for dinner.
Now, we live in Hungary and we know Budapest so we know how and where to be.... but for tourists this location is terrible.... the view is awesome, but there is really nothing within walking distance, and the lack of pavements makes even walking a quite dangerous expedition! Biking in Budapest is anyhow a suicide attempt, so i really would not advise anybody to go by bike somewhere.
So here you have it....
I gave 1 start for the room, because it was really extremely small, NOT REAL 3 person room! Not clean sheets, leaking sink, bad tv-entertainment, and not very clean in general.
I gave 2 stars for the service. The men where friendly, but not really helpful. I reported the leakage, and they said they will send a repair.... but seen the other comments i think he will not do anything. The cleaning was rude....
I gave 3 stars for the location. Great view and because of its location really silent and calm. No traffic noise and exhaust gases smelling in here, but that also includes that there is NOTHING to enjoy in the surrounding.
As i said.... for us it was an emergency for 1 night because our camper broke, but for a holiday or more than one night i would NOT recommend this hotel.
We won't be returning.
For a start it's in the middle of nowhere with nothing nearby in way of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. It's minimum €30 in a taxi to/from the centre but taxis are extremely difficult to get even at those prices. I asked about public transport options and was told it would take an hour and I needed local currency which the hotel couldn't provide in exchange for euros.
The room was disgusting, all four towels had stains on them. The beds were very uncomfortable and the walls were so thin I awoke several times convinced there were people in my room, so clearly could I hear other rooms.
The restaurant food was a disgrace, reheated chicken supreme I couldn't finish, although the thousands of flies hoovering over my dinner seemed to enjoy it. Even though breakfast was included in the price I didn't risk it after the abysmal dinner experience.
The shower door leaked half the water out so the entire bathroom floor was flooded.
The attendant at reception kept me waiting for over 20 minutes while he was on the phone.
The sauna, spa, pool, wellness centre was closed, something I was only informed of after booking.
The curtain in the room didn't cover the whole window so anyone could see into the room.
I have stayed in bad hotels before but the problem I have with this one is 1. It's expensive (€130/night but really €200 when you factor in the taxis which are 100% necessary to stay here) and 2. It has 4 stars!!! How on Earth does this place get 4 stars?!! It's not worthy of 1 star. Not only would I never stay here again, I will never trust the rating of any hotel anywhere ever again.
