The hotel is located on the European coastline of the Bosphorus Strait, near the financial center of the city. The Grand hotel is located on the shores of the Bosphorus. The white facade of the building facing the blue waters of the Strait, so the Windows offer breathtaking views. Interiors are decorated in a classic style with a predominance of soft beige and pastel tones. Twisted legs of the tables, panoramic Windows, through which light penetrates, marble bathrooms with built-in mirror TVs – luxury and comfort is felt here in every detail.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Istanbul, and I wanted to share my experience.
While the hotel boasts an impressive location and beautiful amenities, I found that the prices were quite high compared to the level of service provided. Unfortunately, the service did not meet my expectations given the premium rate.
A particular point of concern was the billing process. I recommend thoroughly reviewing all charges, as I noticed fees for services that I did not request. Despite raising these issues, I found it challenging to receive a satisfactory response. The main office in China referred me back to the branch, which made it difficult to resolve my concerns.
Overall, I believe there is significant room for improvement in both service and transparency regarding charges. I hope my feedback will encourage the hotel to enhance guest experiences in the future.

Breast cancer awareness - pink theme afternoon tea
Starters arrived last, burger was cold and dry
Scone was hard and not fresh
Given butter cream instead of Clotted cream
Orange honey instead of pink rose jams
The whole experience was underwhelming. The presentation and location was nice but the food items were not to the standard of the hotel.
The person that was meant to be our server disappeared for a while so we had to find someone to pay and leave. Not worth the price. I’ve had better for less.

Due to a rescheduled flight we had the fortunate opportunity to have a stay also in the Shangri-La during our stay in Istanbul. It was a terrific experience to enjoy ourselves in this wonderful hotel. We were given a tour though the hotel and the amenities of the hotel, restaurants and spa. We made use of our extra time and relaxed while having a wonderful experience in a private hamam couple treatment. The Spa compared to other hotels in the city is also one of its kind. Seemingly most people are on sightseeing trips, as we‘ve been most of the time all on our own at the pool.

We went to the bar on happy hour to have a drink. As we went inside we told the person who was waiting at the door on the seaside that we came to happy hour. We ordered two drinks but nobody (the barmen also) told us anything about happy hour and our drinks are not suitable to this promotion for happy hours. It’s a pity that such a bar from this kind of hotel doesn’t say anything:( Yes it’s written outside but with a goodwill this shouldn’t happen. I am disappointed about this. Please ask before you order some drinks for happy hour. Although the drinks were good.

I am here now. Arrived yesterday at the hotel.. the staff is amazingly professional and attentive to all my needs. From the friendly and knowledgeable check in, to pressing two shirts I needed ironing upon arrival , to requests for electrical outlet converters. Fast and reliable. The executive 1 br suite with balcony is exceptionally spacious, clean, and well appointed. The spa services is world class.The staff is beyond friendly and really goes out of there way to make you feel comfortable and appreciated. Great experience. Thank you!

Good morning,
Unfortunately I am leaving Turkey today and my money still didn’t return or refunded to my card.. despite the initial statement by hotel “ it will take two to three days”.
Fourteen days in Turkey and three hotels took security deposit and not refunded until now..
I am not sure is that legally but however I will be chasing this matter and take it up with government authorities in turkey through proper channels..
Note.. it’s a 6000 Turkish lira and not 600 lira.. and was surprised why I was blocked by emails!

Paying 1100 turkish lira per person for a set breakfast to get cheap slice cheese used in burgers. The choices were apparently one egg plate for two people. The lady told us the portions were enough for two people…. One normal portion came with one small sausage and a dime sized amount of mushrooms. I was so disappointed with the quality of the food.
However, they took everything we said into consideration and tried their best to make us happy. We were grateful they were understanding and wanted to give us a pleasing experience. For such a high profile luxury hotel we were very disappointed with the food.

I had a horrible experience with the Shangri-La Hotel in Istanbul this morning. I came from Sydney, where this hotel is my favorite, but I cannot say the same about the Istanbul location. My family and I went for a Turkish breakfast, and I am very disappointed with the service and the food. The plates were smelly, the cheese was the cheapest kind, the jam was old, there was no Turkish bread on the table, and some of the bread was a day old. There was no Turkish cheese, and to top it all off, we found a hair in the scrambled eggs.
Overall, the Shangri-La hotels in Sydney and China are beautiful, but the Istanbul location severely undermines the brand's reputation and does not deserve a five-star rating. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Location is perfect just next to Bosporus sea. If you’re lucky you see a cat walking past the window. The first night we arrived we had a few things not in working order but the hotel fixed quickly after we reported. You also feel safe as there’s police station and security check at the entrance. This hotel is also next to many selections of restaurants that open till very late. Overall I would say it’s a great stay.

The service exceeded expectations everyone from Valet to concierge to front desk has been impeccable! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Love the pool and the gym! Also, they do a wonderful job with breakfast !🙏🙌
Room for improvement with providing a welcome letter for Amex FineHotels and going over amenities. I had no idea they had afternoon tea was available until a day before leaving and at check out no one mentioned the $100 credit that was not used but could have been used at gift shop at very least.
