Grand Hotel Sunny Beach in Sunny Beach

Hotel Review:
We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a mixed experience.
The positives:
The location is absolutely excellent — just a short walk to the beach, shops, and bars. Perfect if you want to be close to everything. The rooms themselves were also quite nice, modern and comfortable.
The downsides:
Unfortunately, the staff were generally rude and unhelpful, which really let the place down. There was no poolside entertainment or music at all — we ended up bringing our own just to create a bit of atmosphere.
The food was disappointing for a four-star hotel — very basic and poor quality, not what you'd expect from a hotel of this rating.
One serious issue we had was with the bathroom design. There's a step that's not marked or identified in any way, and one of us tripped and sustained injuries because of it. Shockingly, there was no first aid box available on-site. This raises serious concerns about safety and guest care.
Overall:
Great location and nice rooms, but the service, food, and safety standards fall far short of what you'd expect from a four-star hotel.

I stayed at Grand Hotel Sunny Beach for 6 nights and, unfortunately, it was a big disappointment compared to my previous vacations.
The food was very poor. Most dishes were cooked in far too much oil, and the selection was limited. The salads – mainly tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions – seemed to be leftovers from lunch and were most likely reused for dinner, as they had a sour, off-putting taste. I even tried an omelet that tasted moldy. The dessert selection was basic and uninspired – nothing special or appealing.
As for the drinks, the bar closes at 10 PM, but honestly, you're not missing much. The beer was awful, the brandy and whisky were of very low quality, and the juice tasted cheap and overly sweet. The only drink that was somewhat decent was the gin and tonic, but you can't drink that every day.
The staff was generally unfriendly, and room cleanliness was lacking. In the 6 nights we stayed, our sheets were never changed, the floor was never vacuumed, and only the towels were replaced.
The entertainment was minimal. There was only one person handling the kids’ animation, which clearly wasn’t enough. For adults, there was practically nothing going on. Compared to other hotels nearby that offered disco nights, live saxophone music, flamenco or Latin dance evenings, this place had no atmosphere at all – not even background music on the terrace.
For two years in a row, we went to Hotel Baikal and were satisfied. This year we chose Grand Hotel Sunny Beach – but never again.

90% of bar staff was lovely and welcoming but the odd one was very rude lunch and tea meal was mediocre and breakfast was shocking WiFi was also a downer and the aircon would only blow warm air so you imagine what it was like sleeping at night. Spent almost £2000 on the holiday and when asked for some body wash to use before I left I was told a very rude no. But a big shout out to Mariana who made our holiday
