Grand Hotel Sunny Beach - All Inclusive

Excellent sized rooms with great air con and powerful showers. Beds were comfortable and had a great sea view as we were at the front. The room was only let down by invasion of ants and a good vacuuming every other day would eradicate this problem.
Food ok offering for snacks but the same food over and over again. Ate out every night as the evening meal was awful.
Service stand out service from only one member of the team I think his name was Todan always in the outside bar. Got to know his customers and always made us feel welcome. Other team members though found it difficult to smile or even acknowledge when we said thank you.
The pool is a bit on the small side and cold but as only over the road from the sea went over for sea dip as it was warmer throughout the day. Came first two weeks of September and was able to get a sun bed everyday without trouble.

So hard to accurately review this hotel. Location is 5*, a step away from the beach and the strip... Short walk to Flower Street
Rooms 5* great amenities and brilliant showers, unfortunately tea and coffee is never refilled so you only get 1 if those, shame if you like to start the day with a coffee on the balcony.
Food was lovely for an all inclusive buffet. Definitely one of the best I've had for a budget hotel.
Bar and waiting staff are happy and polite. Lucky was great at entertaining us all.
Now for the negatives
We had 4 rooms for 8 adults and an infant, I'd had many discussions with the hotel before arriving about providing a cot and my parents mobility. They promised a cot and that my parents would be close to a lift.
We arrived at 03.30am and there was no cot, Reception didn't care and said nothing can be done until the next day, suggesting the baby (10 months old) sleep in the bed with the parents - unsafe advice.
My parents room was the furthest from the lift
Lifts.... There's 2 and more often than not only 1 works ...
My dad requires a disabled toilet for space etc these are only located within the ladies toilets and the particularly rude man on reception made sure to make a point that he was not allowed to use it.
We asked about late checkout due to a late departure and was told to come back the day before to arrange... On the day before we were told to come the morning of departure to pay 10lev per additional hour.
On the morning departure we were refused late check out being told they don't do it. Thankfully I had in writing that they were compensating the room without a cot on arrival with a free late check out. I also had in writing that the rest of us could pay, so after a lot of discussion with the very rude man on reception and FB messenger chat with the hotel they honoured their promise of being able to pay.
Such unnecessary attitude from the front of house staff who represent the hotel.
Avoid any special requests or the need to interact with front of house and you'll have a great budget holiday here.

It's not that great. Location is good for the sea, beach and eating and drinking. Also the rooms are fairly nice and cleaned every day. But the food and alcohol at the hotel are dismal and the entertainment is over and done within an hour. Horse meat is on the menu a few times per week and the beer is weaker than a shandy. Pool is fairly small as well. It's a 12 level building with great views and easy access to the beach. The over 60's love it.
