But the bikini contest at the pool with the host Juan was amazing. We came with a family of 36.
Three of us participated and my cousin actually won! It was a great time!
The property is gorgeous and the staff is very hospitable. You don't have to go far for a drink. Pool side- walkways- restaurants. Get what you want virgin or alcoholic 😎
Now for the negatives - the staff are extremely rude, unhelpful and really don't care. We had a waitress roll her eyes at us at Coral restaurant. The check in process is unorganized and long! The restaurants and places to hang out are so hot! Our rooms a/c did not work great so we could never cool off.
The food is awful especially the buffets. The restaurant food is ok so be sure to make reservations. However when you are making reservations, they will tell you certain restaurants are full when they are not. They are holding these tables people who will pay the hostess cash to eat there. We saw it happen several times.
We were a party of 22 and none of us had an enjoyable vacation.
The AC is not good has poor ventilation and no fans anywhere bin the resort just in the rooms and they was on an standard set up(#1). The island is hot and they don't try to make the customers more comfortable heat wise. I hope they fix some things and get better.
I'm going to start with the positives: The pools was great and it was big enough for everyone and didn't feel over crowded. House keeping was great at cleaning and organizing my room. They even folded my kids clothes. When the toilet broke they responded on time. I like that the transportation around the resort was fast and convenient. The kids water park was great place to relax and have your kids play freely. There were people watching the kids and it wasn't crowded at all. The service was great throughout the resorts, everyone seems friendly.
The negatives:
The food was ok but not great and that is including the buffet and the restaurants as well. In the buffet, I realized for drinks they only have soda, coffee, hot chocolate and water. I was hoping for some lemonade, apple juice, regular orange juice or Iced teas. The only juices they have is by blending fresh fruits which my kids did not like. I don't drink soda or coffee, I only had water throughout my stay and so did my kids. The lemonade that they only serve in the restaurants was too strong and sour. The rooms felt a little outdated and the jacuzzi was not clean at all. When my husband turned on the Jacuzzi, there was brown water coming out of it. We end up not using it. I did not like how the toilets look throughout all the resorts. It was weird and uncomfortable to sit down on. I didn't like that in the pool or beach you have to get up and get your own drinks and food. I been to resorts that they bring your drink and food in the pool and beach. That's the whole point of relaxing. The beach was disappointing. I could not enjoy the beach with all the seaweed. I never seen so much seaweed in my life. I read that the resort cleans the seaweed but throughout my stay they did not clean it at all. It smelled and was hard for my kids to play in the sand. My kids did not like the beach at all. I been to better beaches. all the pools are closed at 7pm and I was upset that the place to return the towels closed at 7pm as well. I had to walk with wet towels when I was not ready to go to my room yet. Towels drop off should close 15 minutes after they close the pool, to give people time to drop off their towels. When I went to make reservations to eat at a restaurants there was no space until 9pm and up. We end up going to the restaurant early to see if they take us and to my surprise they did. There was always space and room; so what was the point of doing the reservation?
Suggestions:
-This resorts should build a big arcade for kids and adults. The game room looks embarrassing.
- They should have better activities and entertainment for kids besides the water park
- They should have better entertainment for adults, the night shows was horrible and the adult pool entertainment is not for everyone because not everyone likes loud music and likes to party. They should have karaoke nights, bingo and other form of entertainments as well.
Even though we did not like some of negative details, we had a good time but I was expecting much better.
