Riu Plaza Espana

Just visited Madrid for the first time and this hotel certainly added to a fantastic trip in a wonderful city.

The hotel is stunning both inside and out with an extra touch of magic with the Christmas decorations.

We visited the rooftop bar for some drinks and food and it was incredible. The views over Madrid are simply breathtaking.

The hotel was immaculate throughout and our room was modern with great facilities to make for a perfect stay. A couple of issues for considering, other than opening the window, it was difficult to keep a comfortable temperature as the air conditioning was off ( I understand this is due to regulations), so on occasion the room was too hot. Secondly, the shower needs care as hot water was super dangerous hot when trying to regulate the temperature.

Breakfast was simply sublime, such a fantastic range of good quality foods and drinks and all overseen and managed by a great team of friendly welcoming staff, thank you

My final thoughts are on the staff. From housekeeping, reception, door staff and bar all treated us as valued and very welcome guests. I particularly mention the lady working on the downstairs bar who went out of her way to help us when we just missed closing time , brilliant. The staff are a credit to this very impressive hotel. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is excellent, with many attractions within walking distance. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding – delicious with a wide variety of options. The staff, including security, reception, housekeeping, and restaurant personnel, were all friendly and very helpful. We were extremely satisfied with our stay. If I visit the city again, I will definitely choose this hotel without hesitation!

The service is impeccable here and the welcome into the grand lobby sets the tone for your stay. The rooms were a slight disappointment as they're extremely corporate with awful cold,rough vinyl style flooring. But the bathrooms were fabulous and breakfast was outstanding. The location was perfect for our stay and as we paid a reduced rate we felt it was great value for money. The queue for the rooftop bar was out of control and unfortunately we couldn't use the pool as it was out of season. Worth bearing in mind when you're planning your trip.

It’s a lovely place. You pay 10€ to get up and have bar access. Totally worthy! Best view you will have in Madrid. Had only drinks, no food. But it is a busy place with the tourist atmosphere; so get ready to every corner be very crowded.

An unforgettable stay at Hotel Riu Plaza España!

From the moment we arrived, everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Madrid, with breathtaking views of the city from every angle. The rooftop terrace is simply spectacular—a must-see at sunset!

The rooms are spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with all the comforts you’d expect from a top-tier hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was a highlight—so many delicious options, from fresh pastries to local specialities.

The vibe throughout the hotel is elegant but relaxed, making it perfect whether you're visiting for leisure or business. We especially loved the bar areas, which added a nice touch of luxury to our stay.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed, so we didn't get to try that.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely stay here again. If you're coming to Madrid, Hotel Riu Plaza España should be at the top of your list!

Wonderful Hotel. The rooftop has amazing view and is good to take picture from the sunset. I had a great view from my room right in front of Plaza España, and the bedroom and the bathroom is huge and very clean. The breakfast was delightful. I will definitely stay there again when I come back. I wanted to give more stars if I could.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our two night stay at the Hotel RIU Plaza España. From the time we checked in to the time we left nothing was a problem. It has very beautiful decor and very clean. The staff are extremely nice, attentive and welcoming. The hotel provides an exceptional breakfast buffet with a lot of hot and cold item selections to choose from. I suggest to get there early, the later you get there you have to wait for a table. The roof top terrace had the most breathtaking city views. The concierge was helpful with directions and locating a taxi for you. The hotel's location was great, right on the Gran Via with stores and restaurants in walking distance. There is a subway stop just in front of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

We did not stay at this hotel. We just went to the top and enjoyed the rooftop 360 experience. You might think you need to pay the 360 experience express ticket since that entrance is on the main street next to the hotel entrance. However, for 5 euros you can go to the top. You only have to walk around the block and use the back entrance. The lines were not long. The view is amazing and the sky bridge is a fun feature. There is a bar where you can order food and drinks but we didn't. However, the lounge up there looks so relaxing and great views all around.

Although you have to pay an entrance to access this rooftop, the line wasn’t as long. The drinks are a little bit pricey but they were good. In the end, you come here for Madrid panoramic views. The place is well maintained too. You should come here at least once.

The hotel is beautiful, views are amazing. The staff were wonderful. We had two rooms that connected with a locked door foyer. My husband had concerns about the door and the maintenance technicians installed a door stop for our overnight stay to allow us to sleep soundly with our Children next door. Thank you!
Also- saw reviews about the elevators, we had no issues. Elevators were great.
