Best Western Plus Hotel Universo

The room was very modern and elegant, a great value for the price in comparison to other nearby hotels. Our room was by far the most spacious of our 15-day European adventure, the bathroom was particularly elegant. The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. We chose this hotel as it was within walking distance of Termini Station and its metros but found the neighborhood filled with wonderful restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Great location, nice big room (had interconnected rooms for my family of 5), comfy beds and all. Front desk was quick to respond when items were missing in the room and when we had key card issues. Breakfast was good. Great location near all the good food. Had a wide spread around the area including Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and loads of Italian of course. About 10mins walk from the main train station (Roma Termini). On the whole, a nice place to stay.

Main complain is that some staff member at the front desk were not very accommodating.

1. Asked for a pair of cutlery at night and we're told kitchen was closed. Well we had breakfast at the main dining hall and there were lots of cutlery around in various trays. This area is just next to the front desk.

2. Asked for a cab to be called to bring us to the airport but staff totally ignored the request as he was pushing for us to use the hotel-provided service instead and of course it was much more costly.

3. Bathrooms were really cold at night and we asked if the heater in them could be turned on. We're told they were automated and they could not do anything about it. The previous hotel we stayed in while in Milan had the same pre-set timer but they did adjust for us.

On the whole, you get a good basic set of provisions with this hotel, service and all. Any additional requests not entertained.

Excellent location
Beautiful hotel close to the train station (5 min walk) and excellent for walking to the sites of Rome and finding restaurants. The room was as advertised, clean, comfortable, and the balcony had table and chairs and excellent views. The staff were professional and attentive. There is an ATM in the lobby. Breakfast was buffet style with American and English breakfast options along with cereals, cheese and meats, and pastries and a wonderful variety of jams! They bring coffee to you and I learned afterward that do cook-to-order requests.

The room was not quiet. We could hear other guests talking and moving around. Also the noise of this busy city and the chimes of the basilicas were loud in the room.

We recommend this hotel.
PS--for any Americans thinking that they shouldn't (for some reason) stay at a Best Western when visiting abroad... this is my 2nd overseas Best Western and I will definitely plan to stay at another, these two have made me that happy!

This hotel is in a great location and close to many points of interest. The staff was very friendly when we arrived and we had fun chatting with Marco. Our room was nice and spacious. We found it comparable to other 4-Star+ hotels that we stayed in during our visit to other parts of Italy. Prior to our arrival, I emailed the hotel to ask about parking our rental car. They recommended a garage that's a half block away from the hotel. It was so convenient to have it parked nearby.

Stayed here for 6 nights. The buffet breakfast is excellent, the air conditioning was fantastic. All the staff were so friendly, especially the greeter lady at the breakfast. Also the housekeeping staff on level 6, were so great! Another great thing about this hotel is that on every level, there is a place to fill water bottles which was so convenient. I wish every hotel had this. I would stay here again.

We had an amazing time in the hotel, rooms are neat and spacious. The bathroom is big with both bathtub and a shower area with an overhead and hand held shower. The slight downside was the view, our room did not come with any good views. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast every morning - great variety, quality and service. Anthony who was part of the breakfast serving crew was very kind, he made us the best cappuccinos every morning.

We stayed here August 2024. We were very happy with everything. The service was great, staff very friendly and helpful. You can request a cab from the front desk and they came quick. Rooms were very clean. Their breakfast was very impressive....they put out a nice spread which includes American breakfast items and mimosas! The location was perfect. I would highly recommend and would stay here again.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Universo in Rome and had an excellent experience.

The hotel offers great value for money, with comfortable, air-conditioned accommodation and excellent service. The staff were consistently helpful and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Upon request, our room was changed from a double to a twin, which we also greatly appreciated.

The breakfast buffet was a highlight, catering to various tastes with a wide range of options, from fresh pastries to savory dishes. There was something for everyone, which made for a perfect start to each day.

The hotel’s central location is ideal for exploring Rome, with many major attractions within walking distance. Overall, I highly recommend the Best Western Plus Universo and would definitely stay here again!

Welcoming, professional and very helpful staff. Prime location, close to subway, bus station etc. The air-conditioned room was excellent, even a bit larger than we expected. The bed was super comfy. The buffet breakfasts were beyond expectations. The reception is almost always busy, so don't be offended if you need to wait a minute or so for an available staff member.
Only two minor(!) things to mention:
1. Maybe just me, but I could find only one power (wall) socket, which was occupied by the kettle. (Yes, the room was equipped with a kettle! :-) ) Perhaps I was not thorough enough.
2. The balcony's sliding door has no handle from outside. The door (when it's not locked) still can be opened from the balcony, but a handle would be great... It got me the creeps for a second when I got out for a smoke for the first time. For a second I thought I locked myself out... :-)
