Bentley Hotel Bosphorus - Special Class

Not a 5-Star Hotel

If you’re looking for a true 5-star hotel, this is NOT the one. Despite its rating, it falls short in many ways. There are BASIC STANDARDS that a 5-star hotel should meet, and this one simply doesn’t.

The pros: The reception staff were polite and did their best. The room type we booked was located on the 8th floor and had a nice view.

The cons: Unfortunately, the good things end there.
•I requested an airport transfer last minute, which they arranged for €60 through a third-party company. The van was old, dirty, with no heat and rattling inside.
•The bed was hard and uncomfortable.
•The soap dispenser in the shower was broken.
•Breakfast was disappointing—most items were stale, and the cheeses and cold cuts were almost dried out at the edges, likely from being left uncovered for too long, possibly even for days. To make things worse, as soon as it was time to clear the buffet, a staff member started taking away our plates and coffees without even asking.
•There was often a bad smell coming from the bathroom, and even in the hotel hallways.
•The room had curtains, but they didn’t block the light properly, so it was very bright in the morning.
•At the spa, they didn’t even know how to operate the Turkish hammam—it had no steam at all. The staff member there could barely speak English, and they don’t even offer a glass of water not to mention a cup of tea or a bath robe!
•Serious privacy issue: Despite being inside the room, staff opened the door three times using a master key without knocking or announcing themselves.

Overall, this hotel lacks the professionalism and quality expected from a 5-star establishment. Definitely not worth it.
