Crowne Plaza Istanbul - Old City, an IHG Hotel

The hotel is refined and in a great location. You can easily walk to the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque and St. Sophia. The room is clean and elegant. The shower is wonderful. The breakfast is excellent, varied and plentiful. The staff is very kind. The girl named Zümrüt is very polite, she took great care to ensure that we did not miss anything during breakfast. Highly recommended

Wonderful staff, friendly jovial. Breakfast spread is delightful, Nezahat, in particular, their chef, bot only makes great custom omelettes, but adds a spice of humour and friendly conversation. Faruk was very attentive and served us well.. Delightful! No wonder it’s called Turkish Delights !

I stayed at this hotel for a week with my family while staying in Istanbul. It's a beautiful hotel located near the Tranva. The breakfast is nicely set up. Besides all of the amenities in this hotel, the staff is unbelievable. They are tentative, helpful, professional. Thank you crown plaza staff for making our stay so wonderful. And thank you Zumrut, you made our mornings special with your great smile and helpfulness.

I really wanted to give this 5 but I couldn't.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. It has pretty much everything you need for your vacation. It has a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Turkish bath room, spa (for a fee) and they even have a barbershop within their hotel!! Insanity.

The location is very good, close to public transportation and if you're willing to walk 15-30 minutes, you'll get to the nearest tourist spots including the blue mosque and the grand bazaar.

I'm a platinum member and they were kind enough to upgrade me to a suite. It's very large and has a bathtub.

Now a few things that prevented me from giving these 5 stars

1. While the hotel appears to be luxurious, you can see that in some places, they have not been very well maintained. Old carpet, dirty roof, old decoration etc (see photos). My room was clean and tidy though.

2. You have to wear a swimming cap to use the swimming pool! And guess what? You have to pay 100 lira! Ridiculous.

3. Some of the staff were very nice and courteous, some were just indifferent. I don't feel like I received a 5 star service from all the staff members.

But overall, I recommend this place and I'd stay here again the next time I'm in town.

Crowne Plaza old city is one of the best hotels to stay in. Excellent customer service, beautiful building, great variety of food, and very clean environment. I would come to this hotel for my next and recommend it to friends and family. Don't forget to become an IHG member to get great perks 😉 😀

We had a very good experience with this hotel. Their price is reasonable. Location is very good, close to Sultan Ahmet.
Becarful if you are extending your stay not to be over priced. It is common in Turkey that they try to over charge foreigners. They tried to make us pay higher rate when we wanted to extend our stay, but when they saw us thinking about going to another hotel, they decided to extend our stay with the same rate.

Murat at the reception is extremely nice person. Highly recommended hotel.

We had an amazing stay! From the warm welcome at check-in to the impeccable service throughout our stay, every moment was delightful. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed, and the amenities exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was lavish with lots of vegetarian options. The location was perfect, close to all the attractions. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Istanbul.

The tourism desk extremely very very helpful, they go out of their way to assist. in particular Nassim who was so great in helping and made our visit meaningful with all the tips and suggestions to go about the city and surrounding areas.
rooms were cleaned everyday and our housekeeper for the week Firuza was leaving the rooms so sparkling clean everyday it was amazing
