The hotel is very lovely with various restaurants that you can reserve. The pools are spacious and nice.
The beach is a little walk down the hill which can be a challenge with children to climb back up.
In general, the location is nice because you can walk along the beach walk.
The animation team was the best, with great entertainment and activities through-out the day as well as in the evening. They make your stay pleasant and full of excitement.

A hotel that didn't impress me. A few years ago, I had a better experience at the Melia in Sunny Beach. If I hadn't chosen the "Level" option, I think I would have left extremely disappointed. The food was okay but quite repetitive. The restaurant at the Level was much quieter than the standard one. The standard restaurant was incredibly noisy. The alcoholic drinks were of poor quality, with the exception of the coffee. The beach bar is ugly and crowded, and the beach itself is chaotic. You can't find a spot if you arrive at 8 AM. All the sun loungers are occupied with towels, but no one is on them until 11 AM. My only comforts were the garden at the Level (unfortunately, they have a small pool there) and the bar on the 8th floor. There's a bartender named Ozge who is very nice and helpful. Luckily, at that bar, you can also find international drinks.

Nice place, right next to the center of town. The hotel is big, with many facilities and a good balance between money spend ans services available. I do recommend it (keep in mind that it is not a 5 stars hotel overall)

This was our second stay at Meliá Grand Hermitage, and once again it proved to be an excellent choice for a relaxing family vacation. The overall atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the quality is consistent, which is not always the case when you return to the same place.
Rooms & Cleanliness
One of the biggest pluses here is how clean and well-maintained everything is. The housekeeping team does a great job keeping both the rooms and common areas spotless. The rooms themselves are large, airy, and very comfortable, with plenty of space for families to spread out. If you can, book a sea-view room — the view of the Black Sea from the balcony is breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset.
Food & Dining
The food selection is another strong point. The buffet is well-organized and offers a wide variety of dishes — from fresh salads, grilled meats, and fish to plenty of vegetarian options, soups, and a dedicated section for kids. The kids’ buffet includes familiar favorites, so even picky eaters will be happy. There’s also a nice selection of fruits and desserts every day. The only area for improvement is breakfast variety; while it’s tasty and plentiful, a bit more rotation in the morning dishes would make it perfect.
Pools & Beach
The pool facilities are excellent. Families will appreciate the two separate kids’ pools with shallow water, plus the large main pool for everyone. There’s plenty of seating and umbrellas, and the pool area never felt overcrowded. The beach is clean, and the sea water is refreshing and generally calm. There are a few small stones as you enter the water, but they’re minor and easy to ignore — in fact, you may not even notice them after the first swim.
Entertainment & Activities
The animation team deserves special praise. The evening shows are a highlight — professional, entertaining, and fun for both adults and kids. The mini-disco for children is charming, but it could benefit from a little more variety in the music and activities to keep kids excited each evening. Beach volleyball is a nice touch, but it’s currently offered only four times a week — having it daily would be a great improvement.

The only real negative during our stay was the issue with smoking. Some guests ignored the no-smoking rules in public areas, and unfortunately, staff didn’t always address it. It’s a small thing in the grand scheme, but it does impact the comfort of non-smokers and families with children.

Although this is advertised as a 5-star hotel, it doesn’t live up to expectations.
On the day we arrived, there was no available parking at the hotel, and we had to park at a nearby property — not the best welcome.
During our 7-day stay, the room was never properly cleaned — only the trash was emptied. Bed linens were never changed, and towels were replaced just once.
The rooms are spacious, which we appreciated. However, the food was repetitive, mostly fried, with few fruit options, and the drinks were low quality.
A major disappointment was the beach access. The hotel claims to be “on the beach,” but in reality, you must leave the resort, walk downhill, cross a public promenade, and only then reach the sea. Climbing back up, especially in the heat with kids and bags, was quite unpleasant.
The beach bar closed at 5 PM, so if you wanted to stay longer, there wasn’t even water available. Although the beach is supposedly private, we noticed people without hotel wristbands using the sunbeds — probably with the staff's silent approval.
Interestingly, the hotel offers an upgraded category called "The Level," which seems to acknowledge that the standard service falls short of a true 5-star experience.
Last year, we stayed at Melia Bay&Mare, a 4-star hotel, and the overall service and quality were significantly better.
In conclusion, this hotel does not deserve its 5-star rating, and we would not return.

We had one of the most carefree holidays at this hotel. We chose this hotel because it has consistently held one of the highest ratings on the Bulgarian seaside for many years, and it is renowned for its constant quality of service and professionalism from staff at all levels. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly, and the reception staff were amazing and very helpful. The level of service truly matched that of a 5-star hotel. The bars and restaurants offered an excellent variety of high-quality food and drinks. The hotel has two large main restaurants providing a vast selection of fresh, well-prepared dishes, including various international cuisines. There was always a tasty variety of meats, salads, fruits, and desserts. Even as someone particular about coffee, I found the coffee to be of very good quality. The hotel boasts huge outdoor spaces, including a pleasant garden area and different types of pools. The pools were accessible at all times, never overcrowded, and conveniently located near outdoor bars. Additionally, the hotel has its own private beach area, where there were always sun loungers and umbrellas available. The entertainment programme at the hotel was exceptional, with a very professional and high-standard offering tailored for all ages. The animation team provided plenty of engaging activities for both children and adults, ensuring there was never a dull moment. The evening shows were also of top-notch quality and very professional. The restaurant staff were always friendly and greeted us with a smile. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. Housekeeping was diligent, with the rooms cleaned regularly, and the outdoor areas and restaurants were also very well maintained. Tips: The hotel features several smaller, themed restaurants (Bulgarian, Italian, and American) that are open on specific evenings. The food there is excellent, but it is necessary to book in advance, which I recommend doing as soon as you arrive. Some sports activities are also in high demand, so keep an eye on the announcement board to secure your bookings. The staff speak English and other European languages, which made communication seamless. Overall, this was an unforgettable holiday at a truly high-class hotel. The outstanding service and fantastic professional management made all the difference. We can’t wait to return in 2025!

This was one of my best experiences overall, I booked "The Level" in this hotel and that is an option that gives you access to some really nice things and in my book. Totally worth it and just made my holiday a stress free and excellent experience. The areas that are available as "the level" was above and beyond. The restaurant is quieter and not very crowded, you get table service for drinks and you could always find a table. The extended time for breakfast (to 11 instead of 10) let's you have a non stressful morning and the pool area for the level was also great, always sunbeds available and some peace and quiet. On top of that you have the lounge on floor 8 that was also excellent to take it easy in with a perfect view of the ocean. The rooms where also big, clean and with an awesome bathroom. With both separate shower and bathtub. I also really enjoyed the cold water dispenser in the floor 8 hallway. Will come again and would love to stay longer as well. I once visited the main restaurant below to check it out and the difference was night and day in stresslevel, specially as a lone traveler that is used to have to almost fight for a table at other hotels. Super happy with my stay but the food could have been more varied in the level restaurant if there is anything to take note of.
