Never again A&O Hostels. I’d like to warn people before to book with them, especially if you’re alone. I booked a bed for myself is a 6 pers dorm. On the website, it was clearly mentioned that the rooms were equipped with lockers. They also published some photos with some lockers on the foreground of the dorms.
When I arrived in the my designated dorm, I directly noticed that there were no lockers at all…
The shower was very dirty.
One of my roommate had a very strange behavior, he had literally all his “home” in the dorm. I believe he was homeless as he told me that he had no residence to live.
One another occupant was totally drunk, with a very strong smell of alcohol.
Luckily, the 3rd roommate was very polite, and normal.
I had a reservation for 3 nights but left after 1 night as I didn’t feel comfortable at all to stay there for longer, and my belongings (laptop, confidential documents, credit cards …) were exposed.

I stayed in a female 6 bed dorm at this location. I’ll just say that with lower prices they are definitely cutting corners in certain areas. My stay was a reflection of this. I will never stay here again for the following reasons:
1. When I arrived in my dorm, most of the beds were not made. I had assumed that other guests were occupying these beds which, turns out they weren’t, the beds were just not made after previous guests checked out. Therefore, the only bed that was “available” was one that was part of a full/queen size bed with a split mattress. I have never seen this in a hostel before in my life. They couldn't afford to add in another bunk?? Thank god I was in a female dorm, as I could not imagine the uncomfortable situation I would be in if I got this bed in a mixed dorm. In any case, most people would not be comfortable sharing what is essentially a queen size bed with a stranger.
2. Housekeeping came into my dorm unannounced. They also came in later than I had expected, at around 4pm. Back to my first point, some of the same unmade beds continued to not have fitted sheets, and upon reading some reviews here saying that one needs to pay for linens/ask for them in reception, I immediately got concerned that mine had not been washed, as my bed came with linens. This is unacceptable. Anyways, I saw them “cleaning” (if you could say that) and when making the beds, one of them threw a sweet on the bed, which came from his pockets. Oh, and I would like to mention that in the four days I stayed here, the rubbish bin was not taken out ONCE despite it basically overflowing!
3. I shared a dorm with an older lady (looked to be in her 50s-60s). She was pretty much in the dorm all day and had several reusable bags/suitcases scattered around her area, so it is likely she lives there. I could not catch some rest or have some time alone ever due to the fact that she was almost always in the room. Additionally, the woman occasionally mumbled/talked angrily to herself in German, kept the bathroom door open with the lights on at night and the window open. Even though I was lucky to have brought a sleeping mask and earplugs, this is outright inconsiderate. At that point, stay in a 1 bed.
4. The guest kitchen is located in a small, dinky basement on the opposite side of the hostel. Firstly, you need to ask for a key at reception because the fob is broken. They don’t tell you there’s one key, so if someone is already in the guest kitchen, they are the ones who have the key. Beyond me why a guest kitchen would be locked in the first place, but whatever. Secondly, there is no dining area so you have to prepare your food and then go back to your room to eat it. With all the inconvenience of the guest kitchen, You are much better off eating out.
5. Unsolicited guests seem to be a huge issue in this hotel. There were random men standing around at the outside courtyard. Definitely weren’t guests. This is concerning as a female traveller and I was quite close to calling the police as they were being inappropriate. Additionally, teenagers, who were also clearly not guests as they had no key card with them, were wandering around various parts of the hotel. Dare I say some of them drunk and/or high. The lift even smelt of weed at times, which is unacceptable and disgusting considering children stay in this hotel as well. On one occasion a teenager decided to block the entrance to the lift and prevented me from getting in for no apparent reason (?), then repeatedly pressing the button to his level. I had to say excuse me at least three times just for him to scooch in to let me on. He looked out of it as well and even got off the wrong level, with his friend having to tell him to wait and stand back. He was definitely under the influence of drugs. Reception needs to be monitoring the type of people that walk through their doors, and maybe police/security need to be on standby.
So much more I could say but character limit. Never again. The only saving grace here was that I was staying in a female dorm.

We had an amazing stay! The beds were really comfortable, rooms clean and fully set. The staff is friendly and professional, check in and check out went really smoothly.
The bartender was very nice, you can have an amazing night time here.

Honestly our stay here wasn’t too bad! The rooms were spacious and nice. The beds were comfortable! The bathroom however wasn’t so great. Small shower that is kind of outdated! Nice little reception area. However the laundry situation here sucks! It’s in another building in the back and it’s only got 3 washers and dryers! Always in use and no one comes to claim their clothes! I would plan on doing your laundry elsewhere

The rooms were super spacious and clean. Bed was comfy one nice touch would be curtains for some privacy in the bunks. The service was 10/10 everyone was super helpful and very relaxed. Location was great, little further out but good public transport. We would definitely stay again

I am not impressed with the service since check-in everything really slow it take about 1 and half hours in the check-in line with 3 groups of customers. And also check-in and check-out times pretty weird
(Check-in 15.00 pm / Check out 10.00 am). I come on Oktoberfest situation and my flight was arrived at 9.00 am and I come to the hotel and waiting about 6 hours without any update from reception. And when the check-in time has come, staff at reception said our Twin room is unavailable we need to take quad room instead, so I paid for something that I didn’t want.
When I got in room everywhere is dusty like no one in this room for awhile and all windows open with cold weather, so all room is cold.
On the first morning wake up at 9.00 the housekeeper get in our room without notice or anything and she just out quickly when saw us probably and on the door there are nothing about sign.
1 start for good bed and pillows
1 hotel design and nice toilet
For another custom that thinking about booking here, if you are not backpacker and want calm stay and nice service you might have to leave this hotel to be the last choice.
For the hotel, please manage and fix your service system to be better.
Please take this review to make it better.
Thanks

Despite there was an discount available on my group, I was charged the full price.
With the full price (227 euros for two nights) I would expect a better experience.
The wall was dirty with coffee spots, the heating was at the maximum and was not possible to adjust, toilet smells smoke and also shower was leaking.
Breakfast was ok, but forcs, knifes and dishes were also not clean.
Reception polite e friendly, but overloaded.

Very bad service. Receptionist was unfriendly.Wanted to put me in a dirty room with bad smell. Didn't want to change easily. No soap there. Dorms are very tiny not a 6 bed dorm to be. Not recommended at all. Must see before you book a bed.

The room was clean, with comfort beds, towels, one toilet with the shower and sink and another toilet with the wc and sink. There are many spots where you can change your phone. It's near the supermarket
