Reviews
Hotel staff at reception were so friendly and helpful, helped us with directions etc. Staff were a real credit to the hotel.
I’d definitely stay again.
Room and bathroom clean. Noticeable smell of cleaning products when we first arrived, but soon dissipated (or we got used to it). Sufficient products in bathroom for showering (soap, shampoo, shower gel).
Room remained cool, even though temperatures outside were mid thirties Celcius. Beds comfortable.
Staff friendly, polite and helpful throughout.
Lift to rooms/breakfast really small and slow, so sometimes a five minute wait.
Breakfast had good range of stuff, in a really bright and airy room on the 8th floor. Plenty of space for people, and lovely staff up there.
Left luggage area allowed us to make the most of final day without carting bags around.
I'd recommend Lime bike as best way to get from here to Colosseum, by the way. About ten minutes, and much more fun than walking (30min) or Metro (20-30min journey).
Would stay again, but not necessarily my first choice.
The location is on a busy street front, about a 20 minute walk from the colosseum and a 7-10 minute walk from the nearest Metro station.
The service was fair. Staff were helpful, but the restaurant is not on site and is partnered with the hotel down the road, which we didn’t utilise. The breakfast was the basics. Few choices of cereal, breads, pastries, hams, toast and fruits. The only hot options were bacon and scrambled eggs. The seating area is also very small, so if you were to come at a busier time you may struggle to find seating.
The rooms are well maintained and it includes all the hygiene products for both shower and toothbrushing.
Downside is that it is pretty noisy, you can hear people talk, door closes, in the hallway, next room etc. The traffic noise outside it’s very noticeable in the room, we did sleep thru the whole night though.
Very good breakfast and both bistro and reception staff was super kind.
Rooms:
They veer on the smaller side but are great for just two people! They are immaculately cleaned day in and day out, and were restocked every day with items that we used. All rooms come with either a balcony or a huge window, so the city views are phenomenal!
Location:
Location in such a city as Rome matters a ton. However, Hotel Piccadilly hits the mark all around. The area around it is extremely safe, and it is situated within a 10 minute walk of two metro stops, San Giovanni and Re di Roma. I would recommend the latter, as it was much safer and generally a lot less busy. The hotel was also conveniently marked with a huge white sign that lit up at night that said "PICCADILLY." The hotel is within a 35 to 40 minute walk to the Colseum, and is within 7 or 8 metro stops from the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo.
Staff/Breakfast/Lobby:
The front desk was incredibly helpful and repaired several problems with our rooms, we stayed with a group of 13 and had 6 rooms. One of the front desk workers. Elena, even gave us a dinner recommendation and it was phenomenal! The breakfast was a traditional Italian-style one with lots of bread, pastries, fruit, and meat. It is mostly full service, and the hosts are amazing. The hallways and lobby was very clean, as was the elevator.
Elevator/Stairs:
The elevator is quite small, but very modern. It is programed to get the people at the top of the hotel first, and can leave you stuck in the middle of the hotel for a while. For these reasons, I would recommend that you take the stairs down to the main floor, as it was always much faster. Also, to get to the lobby, you have to go up 5 flights of stairs. There is a extremely small elevator, but you still have to go one flights of stairs to get to it.
Overall, a highly recommended hotel! It is great for large groups and families! Once a big thank you to Elena for working with us to make our stay so incredibly amazing!!!
Roughly a 25-30 min walk to the Colosseum.
55-60 min walk to Trevi Fountain area (which is great!!)
