Great location in Madrid near Retiro park and Atocha train station. The rooms are okay, standard hotel rooms, nothing fancy or luxurious. If you’ve stayed at any mid tier hotel chain, these rooms are the same. The staff are excellent and helpful. This is a perfect crash pad for Madrid since you’ll likely be out all day and just want a quiet place to sleep at night. Good value for the money.

An excellent hotel in a brilliant location next to Retiro park. The hotel staff are polite and attentive. Location great, room not so much 2 nights in Madrid. Travelling as part of a longer trip with 2 mid sized the cases, the room was too small to open them at the same time. The location was really great 1 minute from Sol Square.. But my room was right next to the elevator and even though I have a dark night, the noise was so bad that I couldn't sleep at night....

The location is convenient. The main street, square, train station, etc. are all within walking distance, about ten minutes. The breakfast is good. Although there are not many items, the quality is high. The room is well soundproofed, which is beyond expectations and very spacious.

The building has long heritage, the owner has done a wonderful job restoring it to a modern hotel. It was a very good balance of old heritage vs new decor/amenities/cleanliness. Excellent hotel with a boutique feel with the city centre at your doorstep. The friendly staff and calm atmosphere is a perfect combination and exactly what you need after a day of walking the busy streets of Madrid. The hotel was a restored palace. Huge bathroom with heated towels and mirror. Couldn’t keep room cool without opening windows. Simple snacks in the afternoon. Friendly and hard working bartender. Delicious chocolates with turn down service

Catalonia las Cortes is a gem! The front desk check in are very friendly, gave us suggestions for dinner, which were fabulous. We were early and our room wasn’t ready so they stored our luggage for us. The location is ideal! Walking distance to the Prado and plaza Mayor. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

This is such a lovely hotel. The interior is beautiful, breakfast is delicious, and the afternoon light snacks are a welcome touch. Most importantly the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. During the day you could hear the construction work and at night they had a party and I went down to complain and they offered me some headphones very rudely. The breakfast had little variation, but everything else was fine.

Both the bed and the breakfast buffet were perfect as expected. No coffee machine or water boiler in the room. Free hi-speed wifi worked only after forcing a login page which a non IT professional would probably not have worked out on their own.

Location! The hotel is clean, just some minor details (that if you are not too picky, it's a no brainer. beds were confortable. Heater is automatic, so in winter the ac doesn't work, but we turned off and opened teh windows for a bit and it cooled off very quickly. The hotel's heating is awesome, it's super hot, the sanitation is very clean, and the room is large. Two 30-inch suitcases can be easily opened at the same time.

The last time I stayed, the room was much older. This time, it was much more modern. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The only thing I missed was a separate sheet because the down comforter sometimes made me feel hot. But since there wasn't a separate sheet, I either had to uncover myself completely or felt a little warm from being covered with the down comforter.
